I have actually been thinking this for a long time. Our set pieces must be amongst the worst in the whole EPL. Corners, we rarely deliver a ball in the right area and mostly don't clear the first defender. Free kicks are without any guile or innovation. Smack it into the wall or in row Z is our usual. What is this ridiculous Geremi attempt at a long throw every time we are in the last third ? Please let's have some variety and not be so f*cking predictable. These are professional players and presumably practice every day at set pieces. Even our clearance by either Given or Harper are almost always the same ie a huge punt upfield to somebody's head and usuaully the opposition. I have said it before and will say it again....Football is a team game and we rarely play as a team. It needs balance both from left to right as well as in midfield and not have players playing out of position. Anyhow rant over but watching last night was excruciating.

Greemi has not played well for the last four or five games. Unfortunately he is captain so won't be dropped.

Poor,poor stuff !!! Amoebi cannot head a ball to save himself and the midfield simply is not working. No width and could be balls up the set plays any more than we did ? Alan Smith is not a midfielder and no-one could pass a ball to another Toon player. Could have played all night and still would not have scored. Sam needs to seriously rethink our midfield as the long ball will not work with who we have up front.

In the Middlesboro game I wasn't aware he was on the pitch for the second half. Poor against Aston Villa as well. Agree with those who say he is not a mid field player

Agree with those condemning the negative merchants. People should not let their disappontment cloud their judgment. Did anyone else notice that Anal Oliver was not featured in yesterday's programme. Let's hope this is a sign of times to come and he is not allowed near it in future. I also thought that it was an improvement on last season and was a good read.

RB for me. I'm afraid Carr is not good enough for where we are going with Big Sam. Mind you I'd hope the RB is firstly good at defence while some attacking ability would be a bonus.
