  1. Don't see it - share prices are indicitive of future performance (or projected performance), you would be looking to maiximse income streams in preparation for a floatation. Cost control like we've seen at NUFC points more to a full sale than a floatation
  2. Gosling finally gets interesting then. Will his last 'contribution' in Black and White be falling on his arse in the build up to Anita's goal then?
  3. The nature of the ban is as interesting as the length imo. Touchline, stadium or all aspects ban. Touchline seems a little pointless, he's already said he's going to sit back and let John 'Gentleman' Carver loose Stadium ban is a little halfway house, although we might see fewer second half relapses. Would probably give Ashley an excuse to leave the structure as is and let Carver/Stone run matchday All aspects is really the only meaningful ban that the FA can dish out. We're safe so unlikely to see anyone brought in to cover, but maybe someone like Beardsley would be given a chance to show what he can do with the first team. If we do well it could be bye bye AP Regardless of who it is, if I were the FA it would be an all aspects ban for any offense like this - be it player or manager (well maybe first team aspects for players to allow them to continue to train and retain fitness), but as they are a law into themselves its impossible to see where they will go.
  4. I can't see the £25m being true. It costs around £8k for 30 seconds advertising on sky, if you assume 4 home games are broadcast and it would cost the same on BBC for motd (3mins per game) then it's around £13 million worth of free exposure by plastering the advertising boards each year. I'd discount any value from people at the game based on current sentiment! Now that's benefit to SD, not money taken away from NUFC. How much is the Wonga deal worth? The stadium advertising income must be less than that - if MAs reason is to maximise profits for SD (or his total 'group's profitability) then he would use the advertising stream with maximum impact for least cost for SD and allow a third party to pay to use other avenues. Therefore if we could get more for stadium advertising than for shirt advertising we would have SD on the front of the shirts (giving double the TV exposure) and not in the ground. I'd say its probably net nil impact for the stadium advertising to MA - lose around £10m income but gain the same in TV exposure. Now ironically the higher up the league we are and/or the better footballl we play, the more games are likely to be shown thereby increasing the value of the advertising
  5. Regarding the £18m, the impact on this years accounts depends on when he actually took the cash out - if before 30 June 2012 then its fully in those numbers and included in the overdraft figure, if it was only declared in 2012 but physically paid in the 2013 accounts period then it is another driver to why the overdraft will have increased
  6. we'll use the overdraft to cover daily operations. Although over time you would expect to see the profit result in cash, it may take a few months, a year or even a few years. Assuming we still pay transfer fees upfront £23m went out in cash in January, I'd guess some season ticket money and TV/league position money will be received after 1st July, hence needing the overdraft at 30th June
  7. Annoying how close we still are to 2011/12 yet have no desire to kick on like we did then - although having said that it was a really scrappy 1-0 that got us on the road to that great run of form (easily Pardews best ever run with Hatem instrumental to it but ho hum). If we wanted to 6th is still up for grabs, 7th is definitely on as Everton are stuttering and Man U now have Champs League returning, both of which are potentially Europe bearing
  8. Carr better be on transfer duty then - otherwise we have our ready made excuse for the summer 'Couldn't get anyone over the line due to the World Cup' (of course that will be used regardless because every player in the world is playing in Brazil this summer)
  9. He's a good guy I reckon, but he likes to go with what's popular or is a PR stunt at any given time and won't commit long term to 'hobbies', nor could I see him investing so much money in a 'hobby', and I fail to see how his Virgin empire would gain from owning us. So for those reasons I think it is totally unrealistic, not to mention that it was mentioned by someone on Facebook. Well he is big into charity now, so you never know he might just see us as a charity case. He also likes to try the 'impossible' - bringing a trophy up North would certainly be his biggest challenge yet
  10. Hoddle as a head coach > Hoddle as a full on manager. Both >>>>>>>>>>>> Pardew
  11. When the most emotion you can muster to a 0-4 is a shrug then you know that you're done. Ashley has sucked the ambition out and PArdew has sucked the enjoyment out. I don't really care about a trophey (although it would be nice) -I just want to look forward to each game knowing that we're more likely to play well and give it a go - i.e. be competititive and to know that there is an intention to improve. Up until last summer I thought that the transfer policy we had would give us gradual improvement and that was the aim, now I don't. Come in Red Bull!
  12. Hopefully someone in the FA has a sense of humour and has only invited West Ham in to waste their time. Don't really see the difference between this and Remy - enough in both to be red, but both a bit harsh and both involved play acting defenders.
  13. In the same way Carroll asked for a transfer to Liverpool
  14. One of the owners of sandman does own a hockey tem and they have a hotel in Newcastle right by SJP
  15. No he didn't buy M&M, they are owned by a company called TA - there is no mention of MA on their timeline on their website. MA was a bidder for the company but lost out (according to Google anyway)
  16. Everyone should get down to Hollywood print with a plain white T-Shirt and get MandMdirect.com printed on it then wear them to every home game between now and the end of the season. Lovely bit of advertising for an online rival to Mikes Emporium of Tat and would love to see them try and stop 50,000 people wearing them
  17. LDJ should be the no 9 Any 2 of Gouff, Remy, Benny, Sissoko wide forwards Any 3 of Tiote, Anita, Sissoko, Grenier(*) in the middle Santon, MYM, Willo, Debuch back 4 So so simple
  18. Should be the muscle in the middle alongside tiote as an enforcer and Anita as the dictator. Would allow a front three to be a genuine front line rather than a midfield plus
  19. Was the wages argument not used when we sold Carroll and it was claimed that part of the fee went towards Tiote's new contract?
  20. Technically the Emporium of Tat sponsorship does show up in the accounts through the reduction in revenue - there's nothing in law to say that you need to charge for advertising although if we are classed as a related party to SPPlc then the markt value would need to be disclosed (at a very high level) in the SD accounts and there would be a profit adjustment for tax purposes.
  21. Gouff and Cisse out tonight? Need to pull sissoko into the middle and give Ben Arfa a free role from the right. It's only Norwich and Hughton is more cautious than Pards
  22. I wonder how much of the clubs cup/Europe ambition stems from Pardew putting forward a view that cup runs fuck up your league season? Its such a half baked approach to not caring anyway, I'd much rather having 11 changes for cup games and seeing where that takes us rather than putting out a relatively strong xi but telling them not to put in any effort. Gouff, Sissoko and Santon must have covered more ground than any player this year (well maybe Debuch but he was suspended anyway) so why not give them a bloody rest? I want to like him, his fist pumps are great after all, but at the moment Pardew is our limiting factor
  23. So how many seasons of domestic and European competition will this bugger up? Certainly the season of the tournament and the seasons either side of it, but qualification for the world cup and potentially the 2024 Euros will be impacted. Its an absolute joke changing the timing after the award of the competition - they should have submitted a winter tournament proposal up front
