Can he play the left of centre role? Would love to see a run of Tonali, Bruno and Miley. -

Nah, Schar didn't deserve to be dropped but the form of Botman and Thiaw rightly kept him out. Burn is unlucky in having to play left back but the red card gave Schar a chance and he took it. It's Thiaw and Schar on form -
I'd stick him on the bench if we're going to have 2 keepers there anyway. Match day experience, integration and being part of the teal talks etc. And you never know we may be in a position where we are 3 up with 10 to go and we can give him a jog out

Yes but you haven't been in and around training sessions and playing at the highest level possible at his age groups for 4-5 years. Neave would have in all likelihood done little mother than provide a pivot up front and a focus to play off. But he may just as possibly attacked that header or made the ball just before half time. Either way he contributes more than Gordon tonight -
Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

There wasn't anything in Dubs and Pope but Dubs coming in last season was a big part in the winning run just by being in form -
He knows the role. We saw it when Wood signed, just having a striker playing as a striker helps the rest of the team. You can also point to his lack of challenge when Thiaws header was cleared off the line and that 'whatever the fuck that was' just before half time as moments which would have won us the game. But yes overall Pope cost us the game, not Gordon. Gordon just didn't do anything to positively influence it, which you need and should expect from your attacking players

That would be fine if Tino hadn't played left back. Same xi but Tino RB, Burn LB. I'm the first to moan about the predictability of our approach, Burn at LB and lack of plan B, but the 5-4-1 is proven to get far less than the sum of parts. I'd say Burn at LB is the lessor of the evils

I know he has a a kid but Neave would have been better upfront. At least he knows the role and a continental game is less physical than the premier League. Burn staying on and Schar going off when chasing the game was also the wrong decision
-
Thought he could have stood up better for the second as well. Yes he has to guess a bit at that distance but you stand up not drop down. May well have gone in regardless but still the wrong move. Writing was on the wall in the Liverpool game, the pre shoulder injury Pope saves 2 of those goals, yes they would have been incredible stops but that was his strong point

Add Gordon to that list
-
Well we played more than 6 so the minute was added on

Only thing he got wrong was giving a foul when their keeper went down. Burn landing on his head would have stopped the game anyway so even that didn't impact anything
