Will never happen but I'd love Donnarumma here.

I met him when he came for Sunday Lunch at the George in Chollerford. I know he had a rep for being a bit up himself at times but he was on great form that day, tipped pretty well. Also had Frank Clark in one evening for a private function, kept the bar open until 5 am for him and his party, he was decent on the old guitar. Then good ol' Sid Waddell and Jerome Flynn (on separate occasions), refused to be called sir and we're great company.

Are we putting an Ashley era player into the current squad or putting Howe back into the Ashley era here? Of the former then Remy would be in with a shout of the golden boot but I'll die on the hill with a flag saying HBA. If the latter then it would be Perez or Sissoko. Wildcard, Mbemba would have been interesting under Howe, really thought he was going to be the part for us

Barnes added £10m (max) to the p&l last season, Sandro about the same. We only just passed the loss limit through selling both Minteh and Anderson, both of which were £15m plus. So even without buying Barnes we'd have had to sell them both, at a push maybe held onto Anderson but it's not a given -

You would need agreement to draw a line on the past for this, but I don't think the principles to a form of PSR are that far removed from what we have: (1) There is a limit to what you can spend (2) You have to be able to finance the spend It's pretty straightforward really. You can set (1) as aggressive as you like to maintain the leagues position in world football, but there has to be a mechanism for teams to invest and grow so an overall cap that is equal for each team seems fair (and is a practice established in other sports so should pass any test). (2) is then the sustainability bit, owners need to fund from cash generation, additional capital or loans but as loans have the risk of immediate repayment they have to be secured on a bond - no interest charged but there must be a cash deposit in escrow at a ratio of 1:1 of the amounts loaned to clubs. If the PL wants to keep a link to income for wages/fees then it must allow for a forecast period where investment is realised in future income growth. -
The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

Unless we get a couple of huge wins (or do Chelsea by 3) then Chelsea would be 5 and a draw if we win 6 with GD but you also to factor that City would also need to win 6/8 (or 5 wins, 2 draws) if we win 6. I just don't see all of us, City and Chelsea winning 6 so its who slips up -

Its quarter of the season to go, you don't need the analysis to know that there really isn't anything in the fixture difficulty overall (not withstanding the complete brain fart results that happen towards the end of each season). In our favour is that we are front loading a nice run of winnable games that 'should' put us in the top 4 at the end of them and a maximum of 1 point behind Forest, but if we do our job more likely we'll be in third after the Ipswich game. Our last 4 are trickier and you wouldn't want to be in 6th going into them, but if we are defending a position then you'd take them. The last barrier facing Forest is what happens if they do get pulled back over the next couple of games, does mental fatigue kick in or do they go again? -

Interesting weekend, good chance that none of City, Forest, Chelsea, Villa win -

They might have a problem this year as the CL goodies only feature next year. No idea what the position is but imagine they will be fairly close seeing as they were close last year and haven't increased any revenues really this year -
Left field but I'd take a punt at a few million on Viptonik at Swansea, he's basically Mitro lite but Slovenian rather than Serbian. He's not going to be a 20 goal a season player but he's got potential to be a decent mobile target man

I think Rafa is totally genuine in that he allows himself to be immersed in a region and a fan base. He absolutely plays the game with the media and with owners but that's professional and not personal.

Newcastle United vs. Brentford: 02/04/25 @ 19:45 (No UK TV)

Reckon Ando's going to be in one of his relaxed moods where he chuckles at a Murphy miss rather than getting worked out over it. Either that or we're doing a Spurs on them and being 5 nil up after 20 mins and he'll be manically chuckling to himself and every shot -

Give it 2 years and Chelsea will have sold the same thing twice over. Either that or they'll find a way to sell the actual club to their owners and recognise the sale as pure PSR profit -

That's not a bad bet for a daft couple of quid. I can't see Eddie taking this approach but I'd be of a mind to let the emotion run the first 10-15 mins for this one. -
We're going to fall in love with it on the champions league nights

Not really, there's the invitational nature of the cup and also it's not a UEFA or members association running it -

Could UEFA or the premier league disallow this income from their calculations? Not that they ever would bit technically is it possible?
