Seems to be playing exactly like he was for Everton to me.

What I wrote wasn't an opinion. One statement was a fact, the other was based on what Howe, Staveley & journalists have been telling us for a long time now.
-
I don't see many questions asked, but a lot of statements as if they were facts.
-
Because it's such an over used and boring statement I don't know whether to laugh or cringe. We were the 5th highest spenders in January which based on everything we hear from the club in terms of FFP the club tried to push on as much as possible within the means they can operate.

Humiliated by Neil & Gayle. Lovely

What if Wilson scores?

What are the chances of finding a match of people in here crying about Howe needing to do changes and also being in the transfer threads in end Jan/beginning of Feb complaining about the lack of options to Howe? Targett is just back from a long injury, as is Isak. Beyond easing these two into the line-up, are there really much else he can do that would improve us? We've played three of the four best teams in the PL the last three games, one being in a final - hardly the appropriate opportunity to change things up. Incredibly predictable how the "trust in Eddie" has changed for so many. Saw someone call him "steady Eddie" in a thread today as well

Good that nobody is saying he's not going to make it then. I'm happy for him to get a lot of playing time, same as I am for Anderson. I'd love it if Howe gave Ashby the chance to start f.ex against Wolves and Forest after the Man City game. Give Trippier a rest, ready on the bench to step in if Ashby is struggling. Ashby and Anderson need to get the chance now to show if they can cut it. Training and 5-10 minutes every other week isn't enough. If Howe don't think he can offer them more they need to be loaned out or moved on. I was optimistic by Howes statement after pre-season thinking Anderson would get more chances but sadly he hasn't had the opportunity to settle into the side.
-
Of course it does. He hasn't been on the bench for any game since he joined us. Difficult to track him properly when all he can be evaluated against is development team football. Maybe he just wasn't as promising as he looked against opponents in Premier League 2? If there's no issues and he looks good, why in the world has he not been an option from the bench? That's part of my point though - if he isn't fit to play at this level now, time is running out quickly because 21 just isn't very young for a top flight footballer. Most of the top flight players that turn good start to get eased into the side around 18-19 or loaned out to be regular first team starters, and some are even established top flight first team players by 21. We got Kuol in January and he is now playing regularly first team football (albeit from the bench most of the times) at the age of 18. If he in 3 years is in our squad but not even getting picked to be on the bench, I'll be worried he may not be good enough to play for us either - with the same caveat that it isn't too late, but that something needs to happen fairly quickly.
-
I said it's not too late, but compare him to Gordon who is the same age as an example. Straight into the first team picture. This guy has not even made the bench. If he can't get ahead of the likes of Lewis and Ritchie from the start, there must be some glaring holes in his game.
-
Fuuuuck...are these next? Was hoping for something like a Wolves or Palace to give us a better chance at turning the second half of the season around.
-
21 (or 22 as he'll soon be) is young in life, but not that young for a PL footballer. He hasn't even made our bench which is pretty damning considering how it's looked the last month, and has hardly played first team football at any point in his career so far. It's not too late of course, but if he isn't even in contention by this age he's most likely not going to make it at this level.
-
Was thinking of before then beginning of the game- when he went down, shaking his head and blinking his eyes and was splashing water in his face. Looked like he was nauseous/dizzy or something. When I saw it I was thinking back to the story he told before the final about how he was struggling to play the way he could when he was young because he was so nervous and though he possibly had an anxiety attack or something. Probably me over thinking it

Teams have caught on to the patterns of runs between him and Trippier. Trippier may get the odd telegraphed cross in from time to time, but both of them have been fairly ineffective for some time now compared to start of the season. Hopefully Targett is fit to play soon. Nobody cares to cover Burn regardless of how good runs he makes so they basically only have to cover whomever is playing left wing and focus more on covering the striker, Almiron & Trippier.
-
Tbf he did get his fingertips to the second. Don't think Pope would have saved either of those. Loris played better than we could have expected.
-
Any theories or reports of what was up with him today? He looked dizzy and sick, but seemingly hadn't been in a challenge before hand?
-
It feels awful losing, but still feel immensely proud of this team and our fans.
-
Man Utd will be sitting back and play for the counter but we need to go all out here. Targett on for Burn, Isak on for Longstaff and play a more traditional 4-4-2.
-
Joelinton taking the shit Brazilians down
-
Ah come on, it's Weghorst ffs don't fall off him so he can make those passes Going to be tough now, but a goal back and Man Utd nerves will emerge.

And now Colback got smashed in a challenge in the middle by Soucek. West Ham go on to make it 2-0
