Fucking Steve Bruce, man. McClaren, Hodgson, Allardyce and Bruce/Southgate 4 of our last 5 managers. Imagine that?
And people would still try to assign blame to the 'bottle of the players' and other such tripe.
I think he always saw Sunderland as a short-term thing, like. The amount of times I'd see him driving around down here (his house is 10 mins from mine) in mid-week suggested he spent next to no time on Wearside.
That moment with Flores was undoubtedly Allardyce's best moment, mind.
Flores waiting for players to run over and stand between him and Allardyce before walking on the spot 'towards' him was a fucking thing of beauty.
Wow. Deserve all they fucking get for hiring managers of that standard. Should have been Ancelotti's job the second Madrid pulled the trigger.
And this, 100%.
He was excellent yesterday man.
He had a decent second half, the part of it he lasted. Just watched the game again and still think he was a liability in the first.
A liability in the first half? Were you in the away end doing class A drugs or what?
No. I was in the wrong thread (been drinking wine since lunchtime) - our away support is a coked up mess - see http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,98264.0.html
I know.
They're both shit.
People say he's better than Colback but can never actually point out why. Neither can protect a defence, help us retain possession or influence us going forward. It's driven home why we're 5th in the Championship when we're even discussing such players. We're the only club stupid enough to pay them wages.
We're talking about people who booed Laurent Robert off the pitch at the end of a season where he got 12 goals and fuck knows how many assists. An average at best goalkeeper that no one's ever heard of quite inexplicably starting games for us doesn't stand a chance.
Because he's a fucking utterly shit footballer who's laughably past his peak as an athlete and (on his best day) an answer to a question that never gets asked by teams at this level.
