  1. I must say I hated the fat fuck for his comments when Pardew was here. However he has proven to be a half decent backup keeper, never a no. 1 but he's filled in well in Krul's absence. Seems to have improved, if he can keep this level then there's no reason we shouldn't keep him as a no. 2
  2. Because I'm bitter, spiteful and absolutely despise him. I think BG was talking about Pardew and his incessant drivelings about us.
  3. Horrible news, wishing him a swift recovery and thoughts to his family in what must be a horrible time for them
  4. I think it's fair to say we've seen the last of this geriatric wannabe mobster now. 8 years should see him off as it is, hopefully when it's all finished he'll spend the rest of his natural behind bars.

I don't think this is fair at all. He started the season without Perez, then he brought him in, then dropped him again. De Jong never played, now he's had a (very short) run of games. Mitrovic was starting and then he dropped out. Whether you agree or disagree with the current lineup is one thing, but I don't think it's fair to say that McClaren never changes things. He just doesn't change things every game. Keeping the same team and tactics, against Villa. Was always going to be a mistake IMO. I know it is easy to say that in hindsight, but I think plenty of others on here, were suggesting we should be changing it up and probably starting Perez and Mitrovic. He's changed things before due to desperation. In case you didn't notice, we were getting battered most weeks... Not sure where we found the 'winning formula' beforehand? Didn't we settle on the Gini and Sissoko wide, Perez behind Mitro, for quite a few games. Due to a couple of half decent performances and also getting a win (s*** game against Bournemouth). Mitrovic and Perez were dropped off the back of poor performances/defeats, after that. He even said pre-match that he was tempted to change it, but kept the winning team from the previous two weeks. Cisse being injured and de Jong missing that sitter and generally doing f*** all the last two games, might be a blessing in disguise. That said, the tactics used against Liverpool and Spurs. Might be more suited against Everton. I still don't think I'd start Cisse, mind. Maybe I'm being premature. I just feel like if everyone is fit. So long as we get a result. We'll just persevere with the same team week in, week out. Regardless of opposition or who is in form and showing up well off the bench. Then we'll wait until a defeat or two. To suddenly realise we've been figured out and not every team we play is the same. It reminds me of Pardew so much. I said this a couple of days ago, he's better than Pardew in that at least he'll change a losing team rather than persevere to our detriment. However he got a winning formula against Liverpool then Tottenham and persevered with that, like he's unable to view the Villa game as a different game all together. Sticking with the same lineup and approach against a side with a flimsy defence, rock bottom of the league and rock bottom on confidence was a mistake and showed them too much respect. Villa were there for the taking, yes we didn't want to get too complacent and believe we should just turn up to win but on the flip-side of that we should have gone into that game with the belief we would win and with more attacking intent. That is where he is similar to Pardew in that he approaches every game the same. I think he may change it up against Everton because there were some bad performances at home to Villa. Could go either way against Everton, feels like one of those ganes where a middling team put us to the sword but equally one we could win as their style of play fits our counter attack.

Seems like he feels he's fallen on a winning formula with the starting lineup and obligitory 60 min subs so stuck to it. Doesn't know how to change it up against different opposition to play to our strengths/their weaknesses. Very one dimensional, think he got it wrong today.

    Florian Thauvin

Looked bright recently in his last couple of cameos, think he deserves a start to see if he can kick on from here IMO.
  8. Not going to write him off just yet but like has been said when you weigh up what he brings to the team in comparison with Perez it's a no brainer. We can't afford to carry him into form when we're fighting at the wrong end of the table. We need results and we need them now, Perez is our best chance at that if it is to be one or the other.
  9. I wouldn't say they deserved the point but I'd definitely say we didn't deserve to win, pile of shite
  10. why? every game as we well know needs full effort to get any win, i never ever count on anything with us. Well given the team has just beaten two good sides back to back you have to mitigate for being over confident or taking your foot off the gas against a side that struggling. It's been noted a few times this season we've put in more effort against some of the better sides than we have the lesser ones. Not just this season, it's been our MO for a while now and needs to be put to bed if we're to progress as a team under McClaren.
  11. Tbf people are in the mindset of hating Pardew for the same trait, difficult team/difficult place to go. However the difference being Pardew was incessant with it, every game, every week and when you do that the words lose their power and the players think you have no faith on them. I don't see anything wrong in this instance because, as has been said, we need to stay grounded after beating two very good sides in a good vein of form.
  12. This must happen. This would be AMAZING!
  13. Just been having this conversation at work, clearly the players don't believe in him any more, so it's a case of £200m net spend in January or replace the manager. Even if you have bottomless pockets it's a no brainer. There's no denying he's a great manager but once you've lost a dressing room and even the ball boys are against you there's no coming back.
  14. Tbh I felt much better after we annihilated them the season we came back up and haven't been too bothered since but now the roles are reversed it brings it back. Karma is a bitch fuckers!
  15. I just hope There's None Of That Silly Dangerous Double Piggy Back madness
  16. Just been watching the Villa game from the weekend. They play quite open and take so many shots from distance, just the kind of game we can benefit from. If they park the bus I fancy them to get something but I don't think Garde would stoop to that. We should win this, with a renew optimism off the back of our first back to back wins in a year. It's the hope that gets you...
  17. You could say that about a lot of players we have been linked with, didn't stop people dreaming about it. ( much better and higher profile players than fucking Shelvey as well) Who are you and what have you done with KaKa?! It's sad someone broke KaKa, but he'll probably be back in 10 minutes asking why we shouldn't try for Ronaldo such is his level of bipolar disorder.
  18. It's a testament to the Colback love on this forum that we now have a yellow card countdown until we can discount him from the starting line up
  19. http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/the-mighty-spurs-vs-northern-horse-beaters.16306/ From the first page, comically labelled the "Mighty spurs vs the horse punchers" full of cocky bravado, stereotyping and general dismissive "we'll beat these 6-0" to absolute meltdown. I haven't joined or posted, I got all the entertainment I needed from their tears.

Either by design or by fluke he got it right today, I think Mitro and Perez needed to know they weren't undrinkable, if we had the options there's a few others that could do with the same message. We play great on the break, the first half wasn't great, it was about soaking up the pressure and we let a sloppy goal in, the second half we really turned the screw. I definitely think it won't be as easy as we hope next week against Villa unless they come at us, if they park the bus and make us break them down they'll do to us what we've done in the last 2 games. Hopefully McClaren can mix it up and get another result, how long since we last did 3 in a row?
