Does it really matter? He’s here and had his medical of course he’s signing.

I think their signings have been very Brighton, the problem is that although that may well be the model they aspire to be they’re not an established PL team. They don’t have the luxury of the new signings not hitting the ground running if they’re going to be replied upon, Brighton can allow them to sit for half a season before they’re bled into the team.

A 31 year old left back on a free & 2 kids who are likely to miss up to 6 league games this season due to Afcon. I don’t get the Elanga hate like, he’s clearly been one of the top wingers in the league for at least the last season or so & still only 23.

Actually mackem at work said to me yesterday that he couldn’t understand why we’re potentially spending £55m on Elanga when they’ve signed 3 players from abroad for that.

It’s already been said that we can’t afford either the fees or the wages for those who are already ‘world class’. We need to buy those with the potential & if Howe sees the same in Elanga that he did with Isak, Tonali & Bruno then that’s good enough for me. You could arguably throw Livramento, Hall & Gordon into that as well if they can continue to progress.

Just keep him fit, easier said than done but even from the brief cameo in the last game of the season you can see how dangerous his pace, heading and mobility can be.

Grealish would be class but I think I’d prefer him playing as a 10 rather than out on the left. His age and wages mean it’s a non starter but he would still comfortably be one of our better players, he would be one of those that you don’t realise how good they are until they’re playing for you e.g Trippier.

Watched the 96-97 season review last night, quite a few bad spells early in the season that would’ve had this place rife for a Keegan sacking. Also took Shearer longer than I remembered to score from open play that season & couple of longish term injuries waste of money etc etc.

Went through Chelsea’s academy, he couldn’t get a game so went to Southampton. Impressed in a team that got relegated and a Champions League club came in for him. That doesn’t sound like someone who’s just desperate for a move.

Would cost Liverpool the best part of £300m for Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong & Gordon, I dare say I can’t see that happening.

His link up play is excellent as well & he has the size to lead the line as well. Him interchanging positions with Isak during games would be nice to see as well as they’re both absolutely capable of doing either job.

I would assume they’re gutted because Elanga is basically their most important player because of their style of play.
