Burn still on the pitch. On a yellow, already gave away a pen and you've got Hall in waiting. -

That's a pen all day long. Would be going ballistic if it was for us -
He's fucking crap and has been for ages. Sat with an England international on the bench but Howe starts this cunt every week despite repeated ricks and the kicking ability of Ray fucking Charles
-
Krul Ryan Taylor Kadar Perch Williamson Guthrie Smith Vuckic Ranger Routledge Lovenkrands My word, what a team

Not sure what their PSR restrictions would be, but you'd probably fancy Boro to make a bigger fist of staying up next season than Wolves this season.

I much prefer being in the corner compared to anywhere else. Standing and watching football is just an miles better way of consuming the game than sitting. I hate sitting at SJP really. I do think if you'd picked up the corner and plonked it next to the away fans it would be better. Would give people something to compete against so to speak. Even better yet, create some more safe standing there and try and get things going elsewhere.

Fair comments really. Players have a short career and Tonali might well be approaching his peak. If a title challenging side come in, he'll probably want to go. He was ambitious enough to leave his boyhood club for us after all. That's fine, but there's ways and means of going about it.

There just isn't enough space for him to attack behind the fullback against the majority of teams that we play. It's no suprise that he looked good against Barcelona and Liverpool. You cant ask for two teams that play a higher line than those. I'm not sure what he offers when he doesn't have space to run into. He looks technically poor. Doesn't seem to be able to beat his man with the ball at his feet and surprisingly, doesn't seem to even press well. Howe can improve players tactically, but I can't see what he has to work with, with Elanga. Anyway, you don't sign a £55m player to be improved, you sign him to slot straight in, which makes it all the more baffling.

Quality when he came on. Will make such a difference against teams that sit in against us
-
Enjoyed that tonight, even though it was a fairly routine win. I thought we barely stepped out of second gear tbh, but they were blunt as fuck. Decent technically but couldn't handle it physically, despite the referee being soft as shite. I know they had players out, but it shows the gulf between the PL and the rest. That Bilbao side would struggle against most PL opposition. Back four looked at ease. Burns header was majestic. Joelinton played well and Hall looked a million times more comfortable than Burn when he came on. Think we've really missed him. Elanga is so poor though, technically woeful. Thoroughly agree about the lack of jeopardy though. It'll take something catastrophic for us to not go through now. Didn't feel like a big CL night, which it would have in the previous format.

Bring back Graeme Danby -
Hope more than expectation I should imagine. They've bought and entire new team like and it seems to have worked

Reckon Murphy is the key to breaking teams down when they're sat in? I realise he scored at the weekend (on the break) and he's capable of producing, but there's a reason we went big on a right winger in the summer. It's just that he doesn't seem to be the answer either. Having said that, I'm not particularly convinced that either Barnes or Gordon are consistent enough either.
-
That's a very big ask given our away form. There's not one team in the league I'd fancy us against away from home aside from Wolves perhaps
-
A very telling stat imo. We struggle against a low block where teams are happy to cede possession, because there's less opportunity to press. It's been this way for a while and it's a problem he's going to have to fix. Less time on the training ground to fix it. I do think we have the personnel in the squad to mitigate this to a degree though, aside from a right winger.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Doctor Zaius replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Feels like a no brainer for games where teams employ a low block like. He's provide us with more opportunities in our build up play too. Our defenders know they have to come short for Pope or give him an angle where he can't fuck up a short pass. -
The signing of Elanga has riled me so far. You have our third highest ever fee for a player, in a position that we've needed to strengthen for years. If you're wanting to transition away from a high press for teams that sit in against us, why not go for a player that's able to unlock a defence - or at least offer something different. We've spent a fortune on a player who is in the same mould as Murphy, but has been worse. He looked good against Liverpool and Barcelona, where we were able to hit them on the break, but thats not the majority of our games and they're not the games we tend to struggle in. He's been in the league for years. We know fine well his limitations and his attributes. We know he looked good last season in a team that played on the break. That's not us though. I'm not writing him off but it looks like a proper misjudgement at the moment. He hasn't had much time, but the jury is very much still out on dropping 40m on Jacob Ramsay too.

Being Jorge Mendes FC might be alright when you're signing Cunha and Neves, but it's a bit shite when you're bottom and have to appoint Gary O'Neil or a Jorge Mendes man. Wolves fans must be sick of the way they're ran
-
Russel Martin Lucy Pinder must be a pain in the arse if he's willing to be despised by another set of fans just to get out the house
-
I seen on a recent clip he still had a compressor on his knee like. I think he's a while off like.
-
He can get to fuck with AFCON like
-
Underrated if anything. Doesn't get talked enough for his footballing ability. 112 England caps, multiple individual accolades etc.
