  1. You don’t consider wages remaining on a contract you’re not going to paying, you’ve had a very basic maths and logic 'mare here
  2. Not at the time of us signing Isak, but even if it was it would’ve meant we’d have amortised 60% of his fee instead of 50%
  3. Mate at most Isak cost £65m and he's done 3 years of a 6 year deal, how the fuck have you come up with a £44m book price?
  4. Id rather our current striker hadn’t turned into someone with the business acumen and morals of a Ferrengi mind
  5. He recruited his pal Mitchell no?
  6. You picked an apt username? 🤷‍♂️
  7. They’re also in a significantly more difficult league, where newly promoted teams who were more dominant in the championship and invested more after coming up, were cut adrift quickly
  8. Just said similar on BlueSky, there feels like someone has a hand on the tiller. Otherwise you wouldn’t make some of these recent appointments until a new DoF was in place
  9. When I looked at his stats on Google it only showed 15 last year and had him on 25 career goals. I’m presuming that was only those scored in the league since he broke through at Reims. (Why it hadn’t included cup goals I have no idea) So slightly off in my statement, but I guess the overall point stands, one good season in a weaker league
  10. Well it wasn’t for 14 years, when we had no intention of qualifying for UEFA competitions
  11. Is it? the lad has 25 career goals over 4 seasons of football and yet is rated at over £70M, surely it would be naive to spend even more on "potential". The club has demonstrated they have an internal value and won’t go beyond it. I think it’s stood us in good stead currently we just have to trust the process. In reality given his relative lack of experience, only really playing for one season in a weaker league his value should be much lower. As others have said he has to hit the ground running at Liverpool, lest he become Nunez mk2. Unless they buy a more experienced striker to support and take the pressure off, there’s a chance he flops
  12. That just seems to be the market these days, I mean I was excited at the idea of signing Ekitike. But £70m+ for a player who's career total goals was less than Alex managed last season is utterly wild to me
  13. Eh? I’ve read some false equivalence statements on this forum before, but this is immediately right up there in the top 5
  14. Surprised none of the clubs who needs someone to hit the ground running haven’t gone for Oshimen. Can Liverpool afford to take a risk on a 23yr old with only 18 months first team football under his belt to be their main man. I know I’ve said this before but them signing Ekitike has Nunez mk2 written all over it
  15. I'm sure some do. But I’m sure some also view it as being easily set for life and a proper plan for my career vs easily set for life + 15%
  16. As others have pointed out the lad was a PSG fan and we had just avoided relegation the season we tried for him last. Hardly analogous for our current situation is it? FWIW I’m not saying we definitely get him ahead of Liverpool, but I’d argue we have a damn site better chance competing with them than we did with PSG 3 years ago. The people selling our project to him can rightfully point out the vast improvement that’s happened to every young player bought for our first team since their arrival at the club, and can point to that not always being the case at Anfield, particularly with attacking players in their recent history.
  17. And that there is textbook psychic equivalence, well done for proving my point. You got tomorrow’s lottery numbers?
  18. Jesus 🤦🏻 honestly the number of people on here who'd do well to invest in some time with an MBT therapist, working on their psychic equivalence. Liverpool have asked to be kept updated, but haven’t yet made a bid for Ekitike. They have recent history of ruining a young hotshot striker from the continent. Ekitike has recent experience of moving to too big a club, too early in PSG and may be wary of making a similar mistake again. Let’s just see how things play out, but let’s not assume "we know with utmost certainty" what the outcome will be. FFS some of you lot are seriously psychologically damaged.
  19. For both Isak and Ekitike I’d just show them both Nunez at Benfica, vs Nunez at the County Lines Kings.
  20. Not just that how did their last young, highly rated, striker from the continent do?
  21. I mean it’s a hell of a presumption from Liverpool that they'll just sign a lad , that they’ve very publicly demonstrated is nowhere near their first choice like.
  22. I love articles like this so decided I’d declare my own. i am hereby announcing my interest in being the meat in a Karen Gillan and Zendaya sandwich. 😆
  23. Every media report I’ve read has stated the exact opposite though. Honestly the psychological damage some of our fanbase have is wild
