Really happy he got his goal even though it wasn’t a clean strike. Thought he was overall our best player on the pitch today
-
Strange game like, we played some really nice balls in behind and it was great to see Wood and Willock bag goals but it felt quite disjointed all game long. Not too fussed though, we had a lot more quality than them and it showed in the end
-
Our passing in transition and midfield generally has been really poor. We did manage to turn it around a bit after half an hour but we need to control the game a lot better in the second half
-
Willock’s touch and little flicks + runs have been very classy today

I thought Everton would be fine because they have a good team spirit and very supportive home crowd. However, if they don’t start finding some goals they’re going to get sucked into it. There’s nowhere near enough quality in that first 11 to be comfortable. Villa will be fine now Emery’s there, they’ve got a top 10 squad I’d say, or top 12 at worst

I mean, when he’s forced to he plays lovely assists but if he has the option, he tries to go for it himself
-
I’d be worried if I was an Everton fan, they’ve got so few goals in their side and they’re not even that solid at the back either

Outstanding goal all round

I know Maddison is a great player but he’s pretty selfish on the ball. Not sure I want a player who wants to try and do it mostly himself
-
This game has been full of awful finishing, save for that incredible Tielemans goal
-
Why does this happen every single time? Do they wheel the same sculptor out?
-
Fuck off, that is an absurd finish
-
Everton’s defence and midfield have been completely overrun here. Tarkowski’s made several errors, I like McNeill though
-
I love 76-83 to be honest

Big appointment, should manage to turn things around fairly easily with the players Wolves have, even accounting for their injuries. I read a great thread on Twitter the other day though about how colossally badly run Wolves is so he’ll probably have to overhaul a bunch of things
-
It’s not just the fact they’re good positionally, good in the air and on set pieces, it’s that they’re both so good with the ball. How many teams in the PL have a player who can drive with the ball like Schar or spray passes like Botman? On top of everything else, just pure class
-
What causes a good goalkeeper to decline? Is it to do with decision making more than anything else? Because athleticism shouldn’t affect things until quite late on in someone’s career
-
Not even surprising that Messi is over a point ahead of most of the best 11

The championship is a great league like, there are only twenty points between top and bottom after 18 games and the bottom team have games in hand so it could be even less. There are currently 9 teams who are either already in the playoff zone or are one result away from it and a further four who are two results off it. No one’s even close to being cut adrift at the bottom. It’s exactly what a well functioning league should look like

Milner going for the wife beater look to try and reinvigorate himself?
-
Isak is going to murder opposition when he returns from injury
-
Prefer having one set piece specialist in the side so it doesn’t get political over who takes them and create any division. Everyone knows Trippier’s dead ball delivery is way ahead of anyone else in the team and way ahead of most team’s options in the league

Good thread that, echoes a lot of what I and others have been saying about his contributions to our attack
