  1. Aye. Mickey Quinn would be our best player if he came out of retirement to help us out.
  2. He worked his arse off to become a player worthy of being honoured with a statue, now he's working his arse off to resemble the statue.
  3. If he has chosen his words and gets a positive reaction then he will seal his reputation as captain material. This is a very different scenario to when he had a go last time, and he clearly recognises that fact.
  4. I remember a performance, West Ham i think, at the end of our relegation season when he was pinging first time passes all over. Maybe I've made itbetter in my memory but he looked quality that day.
  5. Was just going to say similar. I remember Rafa being famous for his weird rotations, but he generally ended up vindicated by the teams finish. Only thing is he was rotating better players. Still think we will benefit in the long run.
  6. His contribution for us this season has been nowhere near good enough. He is supposed to be our driving force in midfield and we have, mostly, failed miserably in that department. He's been given the chance and he's wasted it. Maybe if we had built around him in the summer it would be a different story, but I think he has since proved he is too much of a risk going forward. Get a complete monster in to protect the back for and make Merino the driving force. Shelvey and Hayden as back up will do until next season.
  7. Saw him at the Monument an hour earlier. Thought he said takeaway, that's why I pointed him in the direction of the Haymarket.
  8. Aye. He isn't very good, it's not like he's any better than Carroll, and it would enable us to get someone better. Wouldn't really be arsed who he went to tbh, we just need him out and £££ in. He's a shitload more effective than an injured Andy Carroll. And he's injured 75% of the time.
  9. I can understand in the match thread, if somebody does something shite, people will generally say, "what a load of shite". But surely after the game is over we rationalise and try to recover our positivity going forward. A player doesn't need to read every online forum to be affected by ongoing criticism. If there is a feeling amongst fans that a player isn't good enough it doesn't take long for that to translate to the pitch. Footballers are essentially celebrities these days and as such have fragile egos, I imagine when they are sitting in the changing rooms listening for the cheers that accompany their names as the teams are being announced, is similar to eviction night in the big brother house.
  10. Mitrovic would have turned out to be a great signing, if he hadn't been given the task of being our main striker at such a young age. He should have been a backup/alternative, and been allowed to enjoy playing football. Similar price to Murphy, maybe a bit more given the relative markets, but still... This is why I fucking hate Ashley to be honest. His transfer policy would be brilliant, if only we had a first team in front of it.
  11. Aye, but we've established in the Clark thread that Clark isn't a premiership player. So it's going to be added pressure on top of his settling in. I'm confident /praying that when Lascelles returns, both will improve. Clark back to his comfortable best, and Lejeune, who knows what his potential is but I'd say he could be better than Clark.
  12. I think it's all related to his overall mental state. He's coming to terms with the fact that he's slowly turning into Ella Fitzgerald
  13. In the early games Clark and Lascelles formed a respectable premiership defensive partnership. I would say neither are Premiership standard defenders, Lascelles has the potential still but needs a partner he can trust to maintain his confidence. Clark is struggling because he's playing with himself. Oo-er. missus.
  14. No, I don't. Clark has played more than seven games at PL ifs, he's not a kid. He's played more than 130 in fact. That's a huge sample size to judge a footballer on. People act like players only exist when they come here, its absolutely bizzare. I dont want to have to repeat it but CLARK DOES NOT READ NO. So supporting him is limited to games. I've never given one of our players stick at a game, even colback. Eh? I've got no idea what you're talking about there. I was responding to I mean I don't understand it. Logically you'd give the younger less experienced player more leeway to get better/improve? Right? Absolutely, but he doesn't because he's a knacker in combination with needing to get better and improve. Yeah, thats what I'm getting at though. I'm fine with people wanting to support players and hope they reach a certain level, but there isn't a single player on here who doesn't get stick, and thats just how it is. Suddenly one or two people say maybe Clark excelled in a lower standard of football (very plausible) and its "you should be supporting the players to reach a higher level". I don't get why he's an exception. I thought it was pretty widely accepted on this board that our squad is dire and mostly Championship standard? I'll be happy if clark reaches the level he was at before Lascelles became injured. That is dependant on Lascelles returning. If he is still shite then I will begin to worry. I think it's clear that both Clark and Lejeune require somebody like Lascelles bedside them in order to play comfortably. And thus playing them both together is asking for trouble.
  15. I got the impression Jayson's comments applied to every player at the club. Strange that you should use something that reflects the honesty in his post to disagree with him. Well he called Perez "Absolute w***" in the quote i posted above, so no it doesn't apply. Maybe if you had said "shame Perez doesn't get the same leeway" it would all be relevant and we'd all be sitting here saying just how right you are. As it is you just sound petty.

  17. If you've got a £350k house sitting on rotten foundations that will cost £100k to fix or the whole thing subsides, you ain't paying £350k for the house.
  18. Literally kicking Racism out of football. I like it.
  19. Not sure where he'd fit in tbh. Play him left wing-back so we can move Ritchie back to the right wing.
  20. If he sold the club for 300 would that put the value of the club at 300 minus the loan?
  21. If fat one had invested £30mil in the summer, we'd probably be worth £300mil today. Funny how business works.
  22. Once Joselu get's his hattrick on Saturday he'll be halfway to 10 goals.
  23. 3-0 Joselu hattrick. He'll benefit from the early kick-off, knowing he'll be finished in time for a siesta.
