HawK
What did he say after the game? I hope he told him the ref gave them 3 points today? He was reserved, said he got more than 1 wrong but was reserved to say anything more. In his Boro days he used to go at them a bit more, but I think he got told off for it a few times. I think inside he is raging as much as we are. When he was coming off the pitch at half time after the players, i thought he was going to get sent to the stands the way he was going at the officials. They actually all stopped walking towards the tunnel and waited for him to start walking again before following. Meek doesn't even begin to describe their demeanor. Yeah, I noticed that as well, he was well pissed off. I would have very hard not to just say that the decision was atrocious and "blame" it on the ref. It was that awful. Maybe it's a good thing I'm not a PL manager
Stifler
Until a team actually walks off the pitch and goes home nothing will be done about the poor refereeing. So far we have had 2 matches this season where is doing that would have been ligitimate, today, and Arsenal.
loki679
He's got a 10% win rate after 10 games, he's not good enough. Not good enough. Cheap enough but not good enough.

We've been absolutely done today, once again, and you're effectively championing that we take it up the arse gladly. No penalties for a calendar year but hey, as long as you think that's fair and proper refereeing
thomas
erm, tbf you generally have to get players into the box, and have them fouled, for a penalty to be given. Getting them there in the first place was something we were loathe to do under pardew/carver. That we've gone long stretches without getting one isn't too shocking considering. midds
1 penalty awarded in the last 68 games I think. That came at Old Trafford in the 87th minute whilst we were 3-0 down... ...tie that in with the 13 red cards that we've been shown since the last time we've had a man advantage and it's the type of stat that gets you wondering and Jeff Stelling loves. Pilko
I'm not suggesting we've a long list of stonewallers we've not had, but a whole year, man! How many soft as shite pens for fuck all do we see every week for other equally shit teams?
lovejoy
Think he set us up very well today, we looked a well drilled side, with a plan. How we got beat 3-0 is still a mystery.

Away Toon
Lots of people on here seem happy with our purported progress under McClaren. I'm not happy that we are second bottom, still have a shocking defence and are heading for at best a glorious escape from getting relegated. I'm not happy that he selects Elliot, Colo, Dummett (at LB), Colback, Tiote, Anita, Gouffran, Obertan etc. I'm not happy that we are relying on two unproven strikers who don't score in the league when we need them to, and are at best seriously overrated on here and at worst just pretty shit. Ashley has done a fantastic job when apparently most people on here seem to think that this is any way acceptable. No it's fucking not.
Hanshithispantz
It's the opposite of cowardly like but I'd prefer it wasn't us who walked off
Unbelievable
Whatever the circumstances of the result, the pressure has just tripled on him and there is zero chance of him handling it. Aye
Stottie
Mostly blameless for yesterday, especially since he didn't want Colo. I'm not sure if we managed 20 attempts total in the first six games. That was our worst result of the season, but maybe best just to forget about it. Stick the ref's face on a dartboard, give all the lads a turn, and move on. (pink is the goals. The bigger the box, the better the chance)

RobS
I don't think he will walk after that, he's as angry as us over what happened and I think he had us set out very well, Christ we were battering them at times with only 10 men still had we had 11 still was only a matter of time before we scored. The ref fucked us and him basically.
Lush Vlad
Keep with the same tactics and style and I think we stay up comfortably. Curl up and hide and start playing negative, defensive football. Like Pardew did after some bad losses. Then we're goners.
Stottie
The big Norwich win came after the big City defeat, so I think we'll be okay in terms of not changing the set up. Of our results so far, the Watford and mackems ones are the standout bad ones. The first was without Mitro and the second was referee powered. With 13 shots a game in our last five, we've clearly got a functioning attack now, but we still concede far too many and need new personnel. Just a hope but Mbabu back at LB and Dummett for Colo at CB might be worth a go next time.
