Mattoon
Give Benitez a 10 game contract with heavy incentives and the option of making it permanent, bend over backwards for him if we have to, it's time they realised the shoestring budget yes man option will never work and Carr is past his sell by date. We need a proper manager with autonomy to get out of this mess.
ToonTastic
One slight advantage regarding Benitez is that if he really wants to manage in England again, there aren't that many options open to him. Man U and Chelsea, no. Perhaps Spurs if Poch is knicked. Everton too perhaps. Why would he manage Everton? Aren't they getting bought out by some rich guy? Mike
1. Tim Sherwood 2. John Carver 3. Nigel Pearson 4. Joe Kinnear 5. Rafa Benitez. If 1-4 say no, It'll be Rafa. Unless he wants a salary.
sbnufc
Problem with Benitez is I'm fairly sure he'd want more than £600k per annum. something something TV money It says 8.32pm. You high? http://i.imgur.com/asXnw8q.png

Dokko
If Rafa came in for 10 games then we've got 10 games to make damn sure he falls in love with the club and get him to stay. It's possible, if Ashley does his part and hands over transfer control and managerial title. The really sad thing about this is if we had a half decent board it's not beyond the realms of possibility. :'(

Shelveys Hair
A very short list implies if they tell us to ferk off we're stuck with McClaren.
Klaus
Why would they reveal a list of potential candidates if they had not already got rid of Mcclaren? Such a load of bollocks. Aye Steve, We're not sacking you but actively making a short list for your replacement and telling the world about it

Yeah - that's far more likely. I suppose he could always come to us until the end of the season and then take over at Valencia for next season. Dave
Things we've never done under Ashley: 1. Sacked a manager for poor results. 2. Appointed a foreign manager. 3. Considered the role of manager worthy of any investment whatsoever.

Considered the role of manager worthy of any investment whatsoever. He's also never spent as much of the club's money or been this close to relegation before. Even the year we went down he threw the dice with Shearer.
