We're not getting Rafa fucking Benitez man. The club is mental but it's a step beyond.

I'm firmly of the opinion that even if it miraculously did happen, we'd go down anyway.

I'm the same. Feels like it's destined.

Getting Benitez in (assuming it does happen) has to be a huge change in intent, from Ashley. Lets just hope the c***s aren't trolling us again.

If Benitez were to come in and keep us up, I'd have to consider ending my St James' exile.

If anything they would be trolling themselves.. it's a shit load of cash to miss out on with that tv deal.

I agree, as far fetched as it is, Rafa would be fantastic. Mike may finally cop on the fact that having a decent manager can save more and bring in more revenue than any of the fuckwits he's brought in since Keegan.

Steve McClaren’s anger is rising at Newcastle United after he was told to continue to take training, but given no assurances about his future amid claims Rafa Benitez has been offered his job.

McClaren had been expected to meet managing director Lee Charnley on Wednesday, but that meeting was cancelled and the former England manager remains in limbo, telling friends that he feels his treatment has been both insulting and insensitive.

The short phone conversation with Charnley was the first time McClaren had spoken to anyone on the Newcastle board – which met in York on Monday without him -  since the 3-1 home defeat by Bournemouth last Saturday.

A decision to sack the 54-year-old is understood to have been taken in the immediate aftermath of that defeat at the weekend, but the delay in confirming it has raised fears McClaren could cling on as Newcastle are unable to find a replacement.

'Cling on', man. Says it all. Will stay in a job he's absolutely fucking shit at, with absolutely no respect from anyone he works with. He's as much a coward as that other ginger cunt he picks week-in, week-out.

sig fodder for the next round of attack ads tbh

 Original draft was some long shit about how if time travel happened I'd warn myself off Newcastle before I prevented 9/11, which wouldn't have been a good look in your sigs.

BBC updated their earlier article about McClaren 'staying' to add that Rafa is the preffered choice now.

And apparently, Rafa will get the 'manager' title and can bring his own backroom staff.
