Newcastle just keep on going, and they passed a real test of their aerial defensive capabilities by beating Stoke on Monday. I was really impressed by how hard their midfield worked too, let alone their defenders.

But the Magpies' great start to the season has just built up the pressure. They will be expected to beat Everton but cast your mind back to when they played Wigan at St James' Park on 22 October. Everyone expected them to run the Latics over but, in the end, Roberto Martinez's side were unlucky not to get a point.

The Toffees have not had great results of late but have played better than a run of five defeats in six games suggests, and I am backing them to sneak a win here because I think the big problem for Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is stopping his team from thinking they just need to turn up to get the three points.

Football has a nasty habit of biting you on the backside just when you think you have cracked it, so Pardew and his players have to be careful. But, even if they are beaten on Saturday, it has been an exceptional start to the season and they are in a fantastic position ahead of their games with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea later this month.

Prediction: 1-2

He has us in 15th place with 10 points and -8 goal difference.

Just 12 places, 12 points and 14 goals off through ten games then.

He has Wolves mixing it with the big boys up there in our stead somehow, he must be bumming McCarthy or something. Imagine those babies man, fucking hell.

He has Wigan ahead of us.

Someone find my post from the other day. It's a formula

Away = predict loss

Home to top 4 = predict loss

Home to 6th-12th = predict draw

Home to 13th-20th = predict (always narrow) win

Really he's worthless.

Well the formula doesn't work for this weekend.

"Newcastle played really well last week, but they facing a real test this week. They'll probably lose"

He just posts the same thing every week and changes the name to suit who we're playing

I would say his formula is more along the lines of:

Are they at home?

Do I like them?

Are they in the top 4-6 (whatever it is now)?

Are they total shite?

You get 1 point for been at home

-2 points if he doesn't like you

+2 points if he does

0 if he's indifferant

+3 if your in the top 4-6 (whatever)

-2 if they are total shite.

-----------------------

Newcastle v Everton

Newcastle (home +1 / doesn't like -2 / not top 4-6 0 / Total = -1)

Everton (away 0 / indiferant 0 / not top 4-6 0 / Total = 0)

Everton Win

-----------------------

Newcastle v Wigan

Newcastle (home +1 / doesn't like -2 / not top 4-6 0 / Total = -1)

Wigan (away 0 / indiferant 0 / total shite -2 / Total = -2)

Newcastle Win

I had to have a chuckle yesterday when i read Lawro's prediction for us this week. ;D

He just keeps saying we'll lose doesn't matter who we are playing, obviously he's going to get it right at some point.

He's 12 points out with our actual results to his predictions. He also has Wolves on 21 points i think :iamatwat:

What a fucken shite pundit!
