Cheshire Mag
People actually believe them when they say that he wont be manager? They have a great track record for telling the truth, these fuckers do, like. This has put the fear of God into me.
BlueStar
People actually believe them when they say that he wont be manager? They have a great track record for telling the truth, these fuckers do, like. This has put the fear of God into me. Well exactly, I feel like we're under some kind of cruel magical curse where whatever is written in tabloids is destined to come true one way or another. The stories about Ashley selling (remember when we were hoping those were false? Sigh), about Ashley being a moron of a business man, the stories of Keegan not being happy, of Wise meddling in transfers, of Keegan resigning, of Kinnear staying longer term... Guess it's pretty easy to make stuff up about Newcastle though, just predict the worst case scenario and you're likely to be proven right.
James
I don't believe the Daily Mail made that story up. I think they were misled deliberately by someone with an agenda.
Dave
I'm intrigued as to how this came out. I mean, we know from mountains of evidence that they'll print anything, but the way it only showed up in one paper late on the night 'before' and with such authority suggests they had some sort of tip from somewhere. Perhaps the club have contacted Kinnear with a view to taking over if/when the sale falls through and he's been blabbing (would it surprise anyone?), saying something like 'It could be tomorrow, I don't know'. Hopefully it's just a load of wank.
BlueStar
Basically comes down to who you trust more out of the club and the Daily Mail, which is a bit like deciding on a babysitter out of Gary Glitter and Ian Huntly.

Dave
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jul/15/newcastle-rule-out-joe-kinnear-return Despite today's denial, there is a growing realisation within the Tyneside hierarchy that, if a sale does not go through soon, they will have to do something on the managerial front, and that could only be on a temporary basis. I can't see them doing it twice I can see them offering Shearer a short year contract or something but whether he would take it is another matter. dustynrg
I don't believe the Daily Mail made that story up. I think they were misled deliberately by someone with an agenda. This also occurred to me, I wonder if they're putting the story about to see how it's received? Oh wait, they really couldn't care what we think so that's out, but what would be the point of a leak? Unless it's dear ole JFK himself of course.
AyeDubbleYoo
Jeez, things are getting bad when people start trusting the Daily Mail ahead of the club.

Geordie Ahmed
The denial by the club has me worried - bunch of lying bastards they are, means Joe Kinnear will be back as manager soon
BlueStar
If the chairman backing the manager is often the kiss of death, this could be Ashley giving Kinnear the kiss of life. Urgh.
AfroP
The denial by the club has me worried - bunch of lying bastards they are, means Joe Kinnear will be back as manager soon exactly based on the history of lack of communication from ashley and his retarded fishsquirels a denial this quick seems greatly out of character for them

So they're pretty much admitting they haven't got a clue (like the rest of us), and are speculating on what may happen (like the rest of us). To think that these numpties get paid for that. Dave
Has anyone seen Kinnear's comments from the weekend btw? http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/07/15/newcastle-united-deny-joe-kinnear-return-claims-72703-24158294/ Speaking to the Irish Press at the weekend, he claimed: “Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer, the Messiahs, got nine points between them. “When I went into hospital, we were 13th with 13 games left. Everything was going in our favour. “All the other clubs were getting beat, and we were on a great run. It was looking an absolute doddle.” “I said to Mike (Ashley), ‘let me come back’, but he said, ‘no, the club doctor spoke to the specialist, and it was too dangerous’. “What disappointed me most was that, irrespective of my health, I could have been a figurehead, so Alan could have bounced things off me. “I would have be able to help and guide him. “Alan has been a phenomenal player, but he’s never been in management or coaching.” “The whole of Newcastle wanted him, and they got him. “They have delusions of grandeur… “They need someone who can put a winning unit together on a regular basis. “If it was me, and I had pot loads of money, I would try and get someone like Martin O’Neill.” What a dickhead.
