The way he responded to the hammering in the Wolves game was a big day for him IMO. It was the first concrete thing he did to show that he might have finally done what he's been saying he's done for ages - grown up.

Indeed. Thought it was really significant too. Had he snapped that day I actually wouldn't have blamed him. Was pleasantly surprised that he didn't.

And the coin chucking at him from the West Ham suppoters behind the goal, he handled that well.

Missed that. When?

About 80mins iirc, just told them to calm down.

Iirc i think that was because he didnt place the ball inside the lines for the corner and West Ham fans were having a go.. may be wrong though

About 80 mins, at the left hand side corner flag. Some coins were chucked from the West Ham fans behind the goal (You can see them if you look carefully), light heartedly did a little "calm down" gesture and got on with the corner kick.

If anyones seen it,  there's an excellent interview with Barton in todays news of the world. Has a good dig at Karl Henry too,  saying he lacked intelligence and that Barton doesn't rate him. Not seen it online yet.

Big player for us today

Prophetic words. Worth repeating that the key to his performance was that he didn't sulk at being played out of position like Danny Gutless, but turned in yet another 100% committed performance. Outstanding.

Praise Barton, no need to slag off Guthrie.  He had just came back from injury FFS.

Barton quality, btw y'all.

I didn't think he had that in him any more, he was brilliant and looked as if he was loving it.

The backheel to Simpson as he was racing up the line was brilliant.

Agreed, totally took the piss.

Aye, was mint. Liked the way he didn't even bother looking, just like walking away from an explosion. Cool as fuck.
