Point 4 as well. If Ashley really wanted to reduce the wage bill (again) he'd sell the players without asking Hughton.

and the wages they are on are the reason they hadn't already been moved on. does anyone for a moment think if when we went down someone offered smith, barton, nolan, colocinni what they were already on they wouldn't have been desperate to be off ?

Please don't make me say any more!!

With all due respect this line alone makes it sound all a bit desperate. It's a plea for people to carry on asking questions and keep the conversation topic on the poster and his ITKness. I realise the poster has been signed up a long time but without trawling through old posts to see if he has a history of genuine inside knowledge, I'm inclined to see this as a bit self indulgent and I'm not going to panic too much.

What would Ashley gain, in financial or personal terms by replacing Hughton with Pardew?

Would he save money in the short, medium or long term? No.

Would the team be performing better? No.

Would the players welcome the change? No.

Would the fans welcome the change? No.

Would it increase attendances/income? No.

Would it improve the likelihood of selling the club? No.

Would it increase the value of the club? No.

I don't particularly see the need to worry about something like this happening until it happens, particularly something that would be clearly bonkers on every level.

One of the points mentioned is something that has occurred to me recently and that is about moving players on.  Chris has not really had to make a decision like that yet and he seems to have such a bond with them that I have wondered about how he will deal with that when the time comes.

I do believe though that it would cause huge unrest again like with Keegan with both players and fans and the result would be that we would plummet down the league to possible relegation.

Also it was David Craig who broke the "betting suspended" story on Sky.  He seems to be the one reporter who has a direct line to Llambias as they use him to get their propaganda out there - he could easily have squashed those rumours if they wanted him to but instead he did the opposite.

to address each of said points

no 1- why wait? if ashley wanted rid of hughton he'd have done it by now

no 2- why is that considered a bad thing if they're performing on the field which is what ma wants so he doesn't lose a shit load more cash through another relegation

no 3- ash has shown he wouldn't be afraid to move on players without managers permission and if he wants rid of  the higher earners, let their contract run down or renegotiate on lower terms

no 4- if that was true then he'd have binned him already rather than risk someone else getting sacked meantime

Also, if he was that worried about the wage bill, I wouldn't imagine Ben Arfa would have been brought in, loan or not - his wages must have been pretty fucking hefty one would imagine.

Whilst I'm on it, why would he want to massively reduce the wage bill prior to selling the club? Pretty sure that would include dumping a load of saleable assets. Which would in turn jeapordise the club's premier league status and knock a massive amount of the asking price. No one, not even he, is that fucking stupid.

And, all the major bets are linked to him... really? He's phoning his buddy and going 'Oi Del Boy, get yourself down the bookies and place place a nifty few grand on CH getting the sack'. I really struggle to believe that.

Don't worry I understand your point but mine was genuinely made. I'm just repeating exactly what I'm being told and I'm only terrified by what he says because of his professional status. But happy to shut up now as only time will tell. And I hope as much as anyone that it doesn't come to pass.

If he was that professional he wouldn't be blabbing his mouth off.

That said, I half wondered Sunday when I saw them (Ashley and Llambias) laughing in the stands if they were chuckling about the betting scam they're about to pull off. Given Llambias's history with casinos and Ashley's gambling rep you could almost imagine them colluding to such a degree. They'd have to make absolute millions though to make it worthwhile and I can't see how they'd do that.... so :undecided:

More likely they were just planning another hokey-cokey.
