JH
Everyone saw him leaving Fulham to go to Liverpool as a huge mistake, again he finds himself in the same position, in a comfortable job for life should he keep up his standards and again he could go chasing 'the dream' all I can say is don't, use this as an opportunity to get himself an improved deal at WBA and some funds for next season, that'll be him learning from his past mistakes. Grass isn't always greener, he of all people should know this, it's not exactly a lifetime ago all this happened. Nothing worse than an old fool and a stubborn one at that. If England are going to fail (which they will under Hodgson for all the obvious reasons pointed out) I want it to be Harry's career ended, he and the FA deserve each other. Roy is nearly 65. England will probably be his last job. What can he do at West Brom? Qualifying for Europe with them is unlikely. He might as well give the England job a go. (If he gets offered it) Can't blame him for taking this opportunity, again echoes of Liverpool but instead of half a city blaming him it'll be an entire country egged on by a stung media (since their darling got overlooked) If he's that daft then he's probably suited to the job, I thought more of him. He's clearly an ambitious guy, as his track record suggests. He's never been the sort to sit back and enjoy a cushy job if he can try and advance himself. Why would he stop that now, particularly at a point where he'll have few chances for this kind of advancement in what is arguably the twighlight of his career? It really is Liverpool all over again. what can possibly go wrong? I'm not saying it's going to go right, man. But you can't blame a 65 year old who's always been a bit of a journeyman from taking what will surely be his one and only chance to try and lead his home national team. Besides, he's the kind of guy who clearly won't have his reputation demolished imo. There'll always be those middling PL teams that will be willing to take a punt on him if England isn't his final job.
cubaricho
Hodgson, unlike Redknapp has international pedigree. In all honesty, I don't see Hodgson setting the world alight with England, but it'll be the players that are the reason why we continuously fail. English football, the national team, coaching and attitudes need a total overhaul before we will ever acheive anything as a footballing nation. Have to agree. Beren
England will be much easier to get behind with him at the helm than 'Arry.

Cajun
Probably down the to FA having no money and Hodgson being out of contract in the summer. Harry was trying to negotiate a transfer warchest but couldn't get his head around why he couldn't wheel and deal new players in.

Guest Roy the Irish Magpie
Hmmm didn't do well under pressure at Liverpool and there's arguably more pressure going to be on him at England. This will indeed be interesting if he takes the reigns.

His players bottled it far more than he did.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Only the media and the deluded would expect England to do really well at the Euros anyway. Most of the players England have to choose from aren't that good. Most of them play well for their team but shit for England. A lot of commentators have been writing off England's chances for the Euros as there is little time for the new manager to prepare.
Guest bimpy474
Good choice but if things go wrong the red tops will rip the shite out of him twice as quick as they would if it was jellyface, really hope Woy he does well.

With most of them coming to the end it makes perfect sense to give Roy a long term deal, the new lot should be more willing to listen and he's a good coach.
