Has there ever been a more tragic man in football?

Not in football no, but you can find quite a few on park benches or sleeping in doorways amid a strew of empty Carlsberg super cans.

Googled and haven't found a single story, just a daft update on his Wiki:

John William Carver (born 16 January 1965) is the coach of the Best Team on the world Omonoia Nicosia. John William Carver is an English former footballer and the former manager of Newcastle United.

What have they done

Our Association announces that it has agreed with the 51chrono English coach, John William Carver, to take over the coaching of our team.

Mr. Carver is in America for personal reasons, but will break his journey to begin work immediately to our team, to start preparing for the Austrian territory.

Mr. Carver worked at Newcastle, where he served as head coach, and assistant coach, next top coaches like Bobby Robson and Alan Pardew. He also worked at Leeds United, Toronto FC and Sheffield United

Apparently this piece of work has been appointed manager of Omonia Nicosia FC here in Cyprus. A mate of mine who supports NUFC is also die-hard Omonia. He's fucking gutted

Tell your mate we're sorry for his loss.  Well, his impending losses any way. 😏

How utterly desperate do you have to be to hire this guy, are all other managers dead?  Surely Alan Curbishley and John Gregory are willing to give it a go.  Nice weather and all that.
