jdckelly
To be honest, I wouldn't expect a neutral to know much about Real Madrid's reserve keeper or they prospects (we have no GK prospects worth mentioning either). Adán might be a decent enough midtable La Liga keeper, but he's obviously pretty nervous right now when he plays, and I'm not sure how he'll handle a CL knockout. What's up with Casillas? He broke his hand yesterday, two months out. Aye, Mou stepped on it by accident. Arbeloa. mou by proxy
leffe186
Still shocked that we managed to get Lloris, tbf. One thing we can say now is that the allure of Premier League wages means that every player on every team in Ligue 1 other than PSG is someone that can be acquired by Premier League teams. This combined with the new tax policies coming down the pipeline mean dark times ahead for football in France. I'm not shocked that we got him from a French club, I'm shocked that we got him in front of everybody else. There are at least half-a-dozen clubs with more money than us who could have used him. Agreed. But tbh, Spurs are knocking on the door of the Big Boys' Club. If you can get a good run in the CL and challenge for the league over the next few years, I can't see why Tottenham wouldn't be a first-choice destination for many top players, especially considering location. Dave
Queens Park Rangers have made an offer of €8million for FC Porto defender Rolando. The London club's chief executive Phil Beard travelled to Portugal yesterday to meet the Portugal international defender, who he and Porto are attempting to persuade to move. Rolando rejected QPR's efforts to sign him - and Porto's unusual attempts to push him towards a move brokered by then QPR manager Mark Hughes' unlicensed agent Kia Joorabchian - in the summer window. He has been barely used by Porto since then, but according to a friend of the player remains unconvinced by QPR's credentials. Following the summer approach, Rolando said: "I didn't go to QPR for two reasons. First, I don't go anywhere on loan. If I leave Porto I want to leave for good because it is difficult for a player who has been a first choice for four years and is a Portugal international to come back to a club after that club has sent him away on loan. Second, with all respect to QPR I didn't consider them to be a team for my level. "What I find hard to understand is why Porto rejected an offer of €8m from Roma at the beginning of August and then told me to move to QPR for a €2m loan fee and an option of €10m. This I find hard to explain."
