Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Recommended Posts

Having seen the highlights, a great deal of  the good stuff we did came from Cabaye, created two wonderful chances, got into the box and had a chance of his own, started off a lot of our attacks.

Saying he had a poor game is such a load of absolute rubbish. Seems to be the people who are desperate to justify the manager's negative approach that are just dying to tell us that it's all the players' fault.

He was a lot better today than his recent outings imo. Wasn't his best game by any means but he was definitely a lot more influential today than against Arsenal (especially in an attacking sense), some nice passes here and there - has to be said though, we haven't seen that Cabaye for a while.

Feeble again. Totally eclipsed by James Perch.

Load of tosh.

Not really. James Perch eclipsed most players on the pitch today. He was outstanding. On the other hand, Cabaye needs to be given license to do what he does best, and for some reason he doesn't appear to have that atm. Not thatit matters like. We're in europe.

been poor recently but i think he was alright and did one or two really good things. and even when he looks crap on the ball he always puts a good shift in defensively, as he did today.

think he benefitted from having an extra midfielder in there (at least before 2nd half when he stuck to the left-wing position more and drifted out the match for a bit) as it meant he wasn't charging around after the play most the time but could compose himself. played a handful of neat one-twos with the likes of guthrie as well.

When Shola came on he was told to get forward and was clearly happy about it. Then about 5 minutes later when guthrie went off pardew called him over and said hold your horses son, goslings taking that role. We need to stay back. You could see cabaye trying to hide his dissapointment.

People on this board deal in extremes

One minute James Perch is James Perch.  The next minute he's Franz Beckenbauer.

One minute Yohan Cabaye is well, Yohan Cabaye.  The next minute he's James Perch.

I thought they both did well yesterday.

Started to notice this correlation myself.

He was poor on the whole like. Even his passing was at times suspect. If he came without a reputation, serious questions would be getting asked.

Still think he'll come good :bluf:

Actually, it's the other way around.

Anybody else worried that teams have worked him and us out and just crowd the midfield which means the ball is often with Williamson and therefore he just goes long ??
