According to my mate he can get forward a bit too.

And...?

You didn't answer my question.

I wouldn't really say he's limited to just being a defensive player.

Of course not! Even defensive midfielders can attack but the the question is about his position and you just stated he's not a defensive midfielder and I wondered why. Because he is.

Friend of mine scouted him when he was working for Portsmouth, albeit this was a few years back, but his report pretty much stated that he's almost totally left-footed and is more of an athlete than a footballer. Hopefully he's vastly improved since then, seeing as he's a full French international I'd be very surprised if he was Amdy Faye mkII.

What a signing this chap would be him and tiote DM the oppisition would have a better chance against a brick wall because a least they could attempt to hop over that. Okay so I'm clearly exaggerating but I still hope we sign he is a good player.

His name is too good for him to only be an average player. He must be awesome.

By that logic we've got the best player in the world in Nile Ranger.

Still confused at why we're looking at spunking £10m+ on a defensive midfielder. Baffling.

Nile Ranger is not even close to as awesome as Blaise Matuidi. Just let it roll off your tounge, feels sexy as fuck.
