BrettNUFC
You won't see many better performances than Collocini's tonight (he says, as he slips). He's been World Class. From a Rovers fan... Got a 5 rating in the Sun today
Yorkie
Buzzing at the moment. Same, neverr thought I'd be so happy after such a terrible game. It's games like this and the Bolton/Wolves (a) ones, where we've played poorly but still slogged to (what i'd genuinely consider) fairly comfortable victories - Wolves being the closest to a 'robbery'. It's a measure of how far we've come. We're genuinely a cut above those in the bottom third of the table. It's the first time we've been in this tier of the league since Bobby left. We've had a few stinkers along the way, cos that's just what happens. But West Brom remains the only result this year which was genuinely a bit of a disgrace. ponsaelius
Fifth, 21 points clear of the relegation zone, why is he even talking about being safe? Fucking hell, how mental does that seem?
Mole_Toonfan
Fifth, 21 points clear of the relegation zone, why is he even talking about being safe? f***ing hell, how mental does that seem? AlanSkÃrare
Imagine if we sneaked a champions league place Dare to dream etc. Biggest upset in a long, long time if we did. If Papiss and Demba click and we keep everyone fit, it's doable. Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are all struggling to find their formula and win on a consistent basis. Chelsea have looked dreadful lately, Liverpool are hit and miss and Arsenal have the worst mentality in the league. Still fancy us to finish 7th, but it would be absolutley incredible if we could challange for fourth now.
Skirge
If we did nick a place keeping our top players would be a lot easier, and I think even MA would be carri4ed along on the wave of emotion.

Skirge
Coloccini To Pick Up Award By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter United captain Fabricio Coloccini will be presented with the 2011 North East Football Writers' footballer of the year award on Sunday night. The Argentine ace was given the honour by the region's press pack, who voted for him ahead of team-mate Cheick Tiote, who was second, and Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley in third. He was due to pick up the award at a star-studded ceremony at the Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham in November, but the event was postponed as a mark of respect following the tragic death of former Newcastle midfielder Gary Speed. It has been rearranged for Sunday, at the same venue, and tributes will paid to Speed on the evening. The event will also raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. "Everyone was devastated by the news about Gary," said Colin Young, representing the North East Football Writers' Association. "There was simply no way we could go ahead with the event in November. "He was someone my colleagues and I had a great deal of respect for because of the way he conducted himself on and off the field. "Many of the guests and journalists at the awards knew Gary personally and this is an ideal occasion to pay tribute to a real football man who is greatly missed." Coloccini is the 31st winner of the main award, which has previously been won by the likes of Alan Shearer, Shay Given and Kevin Phillips. Middlesbrough defender Joe Bennett is the North East FWA young footballer of the year, while Niall Quinn will be presented with the inaugral North East Football Writers' Association's Personality of the Year, in association with the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. Wembley winners Carlisle United, Darlington and Whitley Bay will also be honoured at the annual awards ceremony. Guest
Thought he was poor for the goal. Should have tracked Keane's run rather than chase after the ball, particularly when he ended up being pretty much on top of Simpson.
