he is the french theo wallcott, which might be very harsh on theo.

what the boy needs to do is, learn some composure,  when he gets near the byline , look up, see whats around you, whats happening inside the box.

most of the time he crosses the ball without even looking.

no composure, basically he gets too excited and blows his load whenever he's near the byline.

maybe he will improve with age.

walcott: 11 goals and 10 assist last year. he is developing his game all the time and doing things obertan would only dream about. they are same age.

To think this none entity kept Ben Arfa out for half a season last year... Why Pardew persists I do not know!

He didn't, in fairness.

Well a good chunk of the season anyway.

That is extremely harsh on Theo, he scores and creates a decent amount of goals

And Walcott's first-touch (and he can take a bump) under pressure, when collecting the ball at pace makes him very effective when operating off-the-shoulder of a target-man. In this area, as seen against Arsenal (away), Obertan is a polar opposite.

For somebody whose technique breaks down under slightest hint of any physical pressure, i still can't believe this guy came through the Clairefontaine system.

Best match for us by far.

Get his head in the right place, and we have a decent player tbh.

This, or at least, play him on the left in a fluid system when his head's right and we might see more of tonight

when he set up Shola's goal it was because he didn't do the predictable thing for once. He actually went onto his left, which is something he has never really done before. As a winger you need to be able to go either side and he did that tonight.

He's doing really well in European competition, looks a real threat with his directness and pace and actually put in a half decent cross or two, excellent assist for the goal.  Very pleased with him tonight, fair play.
