Dont normally do this, but im home early for a change and really enjoyed every minute.

Krul - Solid without much to do. Great catch that lead to a counter at end of 1st half  7

Simpson - Had a decent game actually, some great help for Oba. Doesnt take a genuis to work out his weakest moment  7

Raylor - Similar to above. Decent game, couple of great clearnaces, solid overall, although him and simpson lead to a nervy end to 1st half - 7

Colo - Brilliant again. Him and Taylor look like rocks. Great tackle on J Holiett in forst half  - 8

Taylor - See above. Great partnership, so far so good - 8

Jonas - Seemed to thrive on some decent players round him, eased the pressure on him. Didnt do a lot wrong - 7

Obertan - Best game for us. He had them all over cutting inside, looked a real threat - 8 Turning p

Cabaye - Not as active as Villa, but came alive a bit more 2nd half. Him and Check are going to be fantasic - 7.5

Cheik - Back to his best imo. Getting better every game - 8

Best - Worked his socks off, just didnt have his finishing boots on. Should have had 2 at least 1 - 7.5

Ba - MOM for me. Turning point was 10 minutes in when Samba was on his back and he shrugged him off and kept the move going. He could potentially be great for us. Hope he keeps it up, well done lad.

HBA - Showed flashes, kept it simple when he first came on, couple of bursts, then tried a little too hard, need to see why he went down in box? - 7

Marveaux - You know what you get with him, going to be a player. Give him a 7 too.

Cant remember of anyone else came on??

convincing performance and good result, happy days. was occasionally a bit scary on the break but we defended well (colo and saylor) and averagely (raylor and simpson) when we had to. simpsons back heel into a blackburn player in the second half was particularly rubbish. Ba's first goal was brilliant, great strength, turn and finish. I am still slightly worried by Obertan's decision making like but he scared the shit out of them with his direct style and pace.

The three best things about today imo were

Ba scores a hat-trick, Pardew can't justify playing Shola again

Tiote looked back to his old self, with a few mistakes mixed in for good measure

Krul was passing out from the back, exactly what we should be doing against shit houses like Blackburn

Krul 6 - Not much to do.

Simpson 6 - Ok.

S. Taylor 8 - Solid yet again.

Coloccini 8 - Forming a very good partnership with Taylor.

R.Taylor 5 - Poor for Blackburn's goal, struggled against Hoilett

Obertan 7.5 - Very, very good. Direct running and a constant threat.

Tiote 8 - Looks back on top form, another assist in a combative display.

Cabaye 8 - Battles, superb range of passing and wonderful vision. Desperate for him to score.

Jonas 7 - Gorgeous reverse pass to Ben Arfa. Kept the ball well and was full of running as per usual.

Best 8 - Tireless worker, deserved a goal, good assist for our opener.

Ba 9 - Can't really ask for more, silenced the doubters in emphatic fashion.

HBA 7 - Decent cameo, could have scored if he'd been a bit more selfish.

Marveaux 6

Noticed there was a lad from Canal+, the big French TV channel, outside Shearers interviewing fans today, nice to see we're getting interest from them.

Really good performance today bar one slip up from Raylor, other than that we made it look easy. Really happy considering this is the type of game we'd have turned up completely disinterested and lost in the recent past.

theo, have you compared Newcastle's starting line up to ours? I would only take one of their players, perhaps two at a push. We also had a big mental advantage going into this game given our previous good form at St James'.

This was certainly a game we could have achieved a point in. Instead we rolled over and got dicked by a side which struggles to score. Normal service is resumed for Kean - had he produced something today I would perhaps have started to back him, however, last week's victory was merely a poisoned chalice.

Steve Keen complaining because if they hadnt got a man sent off and err conceded the 2nd goal and errr been more ruthless in our box, they may have got a point

On a side note, he looks like a murderer.

They scored their 1 chance xconfused

 That bit at the end when the Frenchies + Best linked up with quick one touch passes. :weep:

Falling for Obertan.

Loved how the confidence of the squad seemingly exploded when they collectively realized there was a guy up front that could finish.

When other clubs supporters start rating our players, it's only because the media have told them to. Which is also the point when they starting getting linked with top four teams, because tabloid journalists won't allow good players outside of Manchester, London or, inexplicably, Liverpool. So I'm quite happy for our players to fly under the radar for a while.

Great performance and result today, it's nice to see us dominating games against the other also-rans in the league - if we can keep our first team together I think we'll be competitive against the Top Six when we play them too; certainly can't see this midfield being overran as easily as most teams are against the likes of Man Utd, although you have to worry about the full back positions.

Jizzing all over the place at the profit we're going to make off this group of lads like. :fwap:
