AliGupter
Was at my first school with his son who was a few years below me (Adam^ may remember). Used to see Gary there quite often and he seemed like just a normal person, absolutely gutted for his family. RIP.

oldtype
Such terrible news. I don't think I've ever seen a better example of a model professional. The world needs more people like Gary Speed, not less.

Oakie Doke
Steven Taylor probably knew him? He was just breaking into the first team picture in Speed's last season with us. edit: as Pilko just said.

Skeletor
Was Taylor at Newcastle back then?, maybe not the first team but on the bench, reserves, or academy. Think he made his debut in Gary's last season. 1-0 loss against Bolton I think.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
one of his son's is called Ed, I know that much. Used to have a ST in the Milburn Paddock and stood over/next to the tunnel before the game hunting autographs when I was 13/14. Anyway, Ed was mascot that day and was pitchside during the warm up. He took it upon himself to go and join in, only for Speedo to call his name, run across and bring him back to the dugout.
