He needs a better song.

He swerves to the left,

He swerves to the riiiggghhhttt,

Hatem Ben Arfa,

He makes you look shite!

(one of the lads came up with this on a stag do in Benidorm last weekend. 20 of us singing it and plenty more joined in complete with arms above head to the left and then the right)

What do you think: Would he play just as well for us if Pardew hadn't gone through with his discipline routine thing and just let him play from the start of the season? Or did that actually contribute to making Ben Arfa a better player (for the team, not on a technical aspect with the ball)?

The most talent player in the league, in his position.

No player combines vision, dribbling and guile as good as Ben Arfa. Where have you been all my life?

it really does look like a number of things have aligned themselves and fallen into place for the lad, fucking delighted for him and us and all

hope he goes to the euros and tears it up with cabaye

NobbyOhNobby's been trying to get the 'All we need is Hatem Ben Arfa' to the tune of radio gaga going for a while tbf

It's just not catching on goddamnit! It's got to the point where I sing it to myself in my head then cry a little that we'll never hear it at the match :(

I'd say Pardew's role has been crucial. However exasperating it was for us to see a talented player being held back, it was the tough love that the player needed. Instead of an individual who only played when he had the ball, we've now got a real team player who concentrates all the time and really hurts the opposition when opportunity arises.

It's like having a Jedi playing football for us.

Better than that; a Templar Knight!

Man can you imagine Ray Hudson commentating on one of our games?

"Who's that player wearing 10, Hatem, Hatem,

He's not quite as taaaaall as Big Ben, Hatem, Hatem,

He's got moooore tricks than David Blaine,

He's faster than a speeding train,

Hatem Ben Arfa, Wizard of the North...."
