oldtype
The fact is, we've massively overachieved and we're being found out. Our strongest XI ain't bad, but there's is no depth: the backup players are rotten. We have a few quality players, and fortunately in key positions: Ba, Tiote, Cabaye and Colo--if we can keep that spine intact, we'll be OK. Don't think we can afford to lose them and, unfortunately, two of them are off to Africa. We desperately need to invest as we, ideally, need to fill 3 first team slots (Simpson, Raylor, Obertan) plus strengthen the squad in general. No doubt Pardew is shitting it, but no wonder: he's discovering that his side is patchier than Nick Cage's career. Man oh man, how bad are we going to be when Tiote and Ba are off to Sudan. Yorkie
Krul - 4. Liability again. Lack of communication. Nowhere to be seen with every cross that entered the box. Punted it to the opposition over and over again. Grow up or get out of the team. Sorry aye, it's Krul isn't it. One of those who you can't criticise. He was s**** tonight, and was in the last two games n'all. Who you gonna replace him with? That's the only bit i would consider retracting, purely because we've got no one decent in reserve. If Harper hadn't become a wreck of a keeper in the last two years, i'd be having him back in the team pretty sharpish. Laughable. Nearly as bad as the 5 for Ryan Taylor, who got fucking raped. Honestly. Anyway, Taylor gets a couple of points for an assist and generally looking like he wanted to do something with the football. Didn't have a good game though. Guest Nasty Cheik
Worrying thing is, who do we have to bring in instead of Simpson, Raylor, Gutierrez, Obertan? Okay Santon instead of one of the Wing backs, but that's it.

OzzieMandias
We did have a spell in the first period of the second half where it looked like we could play football.

Sorry but those are laughably callow comments Yorkie He wasn't world class, but he's by several country miles the best keeper we have. Criticism of mistakes he's made is valid, his distribution is inconsistent at best, but your comments (this game and last) are super OTT given his contribution to our season. [/iMO] I think he's had a brilliant season in general, and will turn into a fantastic keeper. That much is obvious. My comments are based on the last three games, where i think he's been poor. Pata
I can't bear this forum sometimes I know you're not WUM'ing but it is beyond my comprehension how anyone can watch that match and say Tiote had a bad game. He was my MOTM. f***ed up for the third goal IMO, but other than that I thought he was excellent. Tiote was never excellent today. If Simpson or Obertan misplaced the same amount of passes like he did today (well, maybe they did) they'd be killed on here. exactly. tiote may do alot good things in match, like he did today, but he certainly cancelled it out with the f*** ups he made aswell Just go to sleep. Tiote tried to keep the ball and calm our play down when everyone was panicking. It's not easy and will lead to f***-ups like passing to Simpson or taking the ball away from Agger. Passing to Simpson went ok most of the times. He was trying to pass it to Vuckic, Obertan, Jonas, Cabaye or even Ba. Rarely that a pass got there... I meant the fuck-up as IMO it's always wrong to pass to Simpson. But seriously, after watching that game you really want to come here and say Tiote was poor when he quite clearly was our best player with CBs. ponsaelius
Half the reason Krul has to hoof the ball is because he's terrified to pass out to the shitehawk that is Ryan Taylor.

It's not just that, we look a little burnt out, we are playing like morons that can't put passes together, we have lost all motivation to chase the ball and all hunger to attack. We are pedestrian from start to finish and have little clue what to do with the ball in the opponents half of the pitch and less of a clue how to get it there other than hoofing it in the air. Been unlucky with injuries too but we are going to be crippled with Ba and Tiote gone and none of our injured players returning. Even a new defender (realistically just the one, which will be from the Championship) wont help us going forward. We need someone in to pep the players up and something to motivate us going forward. Ishmael
Taylor is actually competent in possession. Surprised you didn't pick Simpson as your reason, because that is the obvious (and accurate) choice.

He was s**** tonight, and was in the last two games n'all. Had nothing to do against Bolton, and in what way could he do anything about any of WBA's goals? Our defensive organisation was a joke against West Brom. Not all Krul's fault but he played a part. And he concedes possession every single time he receives the ball. Agree he struggles with distribution but he's still young for a Keeper. Doesn't deserve such harsh criticism.
Frazzle
Our fullbacks still don't drop deep enough to receive the ball from Krul anyway, its mostly a tricky pass for him to play.

I could have put my foot through the telly when Tyler said Liverpool had had a problem at left back for so long, but not any more.
Dave
Half the reason Krul has to hoof the ball is because he's terrified to pass out to the shitehawk that is Ryan Taylor. Not sure that quite stacks up, Coloccini is one of the best centre halves in the league with the ball at his feet and recently there's been a very noticable lack of playing it short to him either. Krul is either taking it upon himself to smack it up to the forwards time after time or the tactics have been changed.

littlelunchbox
people keep saying how bad we are tonight, we were no worse than the last four games we played. bar the first half vs swansea, but even then we we one dimensional launching long balls from every direction. the irony of today is, we passed the ball around and kept it a lot better than the last four games we played. Well, we're in a slump. It's a big test for Pardew. The truth is: we haven't played terribly well this season, but in key areas we've been able to compete: but there's only so far you can push your luck.
