Guest firetotheworks
Well deserved. Disgusting thing to do and have absolutely no time for retards who do that. Atleast he had the brains to admit it. Evans is an even bigger c*** for denying it. And anyone who says its a reaction...what kind of person has that as an reaction to anything? I'd rather see him throwing a punch than spitting. That's nonsense like. Everyone has it in them to react to do the same thing that someone's done to you. No they don't man I disagree.
Hughesy
To be honest I never understand why it is acceptable for a footballer to spit on the floor. Is there a physiological justification for this? The kids of today are copying the likes of Ronaldo. Have you ever played football? In fairness - I've never really understood the need. As I'm sure most people have here, I've played a lot of football over the years and never quite understood the need to spit during a match.
Troll
Biting is worse than spitting, which is worse than racism, which is worse than stamping on someone's leg.
STM
So has Evans not been done yet? How's that? Whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. Blame Frank Rikaard, he started it.
mrmojorisin75
i don't think evans was spitting "at" him personally, which is what makes it so much more bizarre that he'd spit at all at that exact moment Bollocks wasn't he Well, I don't agree

ads
Evans' denial is the worst part in all this for me. He blatantly spat at Cisse. In all honesty it's a disgusting thing for both to do but at least Cisse has come out and apologised immediately, Evans denying it is dragging the whole thing out and is pretty embarrassing really. AyeDubbleYoo
Yeah, at least Cisse has come out looking like the better man. Disappointed that the press haven't made it clearer that Evans was the instigator mind.
Ste
Embarrassing from Scholes to call it a reflex to spit. Turn your head away from your opponent on the ground and do it, unless Evans is a simpleton? He knew what he was doing.
The College Dropout
The spitting on the floor in football is generally a little ott.

It depends on the person, when exercising and football in particular I get a lot of build up and have to release it, others don't, it's similar to sweat levels, some people sweat more during exercise, others don't. In saying that though there is no need to actually spit at someone like Evans clearly did.
AyeDubbleYoo
Aye I've never needed to spit during sport, always used there was also a macho aspect to it. It doesn't really bother me though.
ChrisMcQuillan
Don't have a problem with the six game ban for spitting, seven with a previous sending off. The fact that people can end careers and escape punishment however, I do have a problem with. And the fact that Evans will get off.

"Jonny is an old team mate of mine and a bloke I like, but lets put that to one side for a moment". Then totally fails to put it to one side for even a sentence in a horribly biased excuse of an article. That reads like some half-pissed online man utd blogger ranting to impress his mates. How a so-called 'quality' rag has the temerity to print that garbage is beyond contempt.
Collage
It's a common thing to feel the need to spit during heavy excercise, I've always had it. That thick saliva building up is because your body loses water. Then there are players who have a spitting tic. Shearer had a bit of that going on, Zlatan too. Dinho lad
Cisse is certainly guilty for reacting like he always does, OTT and very snide Eh, isn't the elbow earlier on this season the first time he's acted like anything other than an absolute saint since he arrived at NUFC? I think Allah will be the judge of that.
