Neil
I'd certainly have him over Howard, but even if we were interested I doubt we'd get him.
Guest neesy111
Aye, Mingolet was the best GK in the league for me. He was the probably the difference in keeping them up.
Tooj
Desperate to get rid of his £6.5m release clause. Can see a few teams interested at that price. That's a bargain price that.

Dr Colossus
Seem to be spending 7.5m Euro on a Serie B striker. Which player? Paulinho from Livorno. It'll be weird for him going from a proud left wing club which has a huge, often violent rivalry with Lazio to a side ran by Mussolini. After looking up Livorno (didn't know much about them, and any left wing clubs are cool with me), turns out he did the fascist salute playing against them for Lazio. Ishmael
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/10086273/Premier-League-2013-14-what-wont-happen-next-season.html In the early hours of the morning, United Nations special forces storm Sunderland’s Academy of Light training ground and liberate all 38 footballers imprisoned inside. After a stand-off, manager Paolo di Canio is finally apprehended at Durham Tees Valley Airport, trying to board a flight to Mexico. A costly show trial follows at The Hague, where the full scale of the atrocities committed by Di Canio and his henchmen is revealed: 6am starts, all-night video analysis sessions, 15-mile runs in the freezing cold and brandings for lateness. Di Canio is convicted on multiple charges of crimes against footballer comfort, and sentenced to 25 more years as Sunderland manager.

Cajun
Pretty much not worthy of a post but I didn't realise Sessegnon was 29. Thought he was a lot younger.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Pretty much not worthy of a post but I didn't realise Sessegnon was 29. Thought he was a lot younger. That's a Benin 29, could be 5-10 years higher in either direction. Really, though he's a late bloomer. No one outside of France will have heard of him until he was at PSG, and he was 25-26 by this point.
Guest Craig-NUFC
SUNDERLAND’S summer restructuring is in full swing after the club announced the appointment of Roberto De Fanti as director of football. De Fanti’s appointment has been mooted for some time, but the Black Cats have now officially confirmed that the deal is over the line. The Wearsiders have also announced that Valentino Angeloni is the club’s new chief scout, and in an unusual move, the club has confirmed that players Valentin Roberge, Modibo Diakite and Adilson Tavares Varela (Cabral) will make the move to the Stadium of Light next month. De Fanti, who has many years of experience in football, has worked closely with Angeloni on player recruitment at both Udinese and Inter Milan, and has an extensive network of contacts throughout the game. He also assisted with the appointment of the Club’s Head Coach. Angeloni took up a scouting role with Torino in 2007, after the end of his playing career, which saw him make over 350 appearances in professional football. He then went on to spend four years with Udinese as part of their technical set up. During his time at the Italian club he discovered players such as Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, who he signed as a 17 year old. He was appointed as FC Internazionale’s head of scouting in March 2012.
