Really liked what i saw of Simpson vs Braga. Taking on players, crossing when the opportunity allows.. clearly still developing as a player, could be immense for us.

That being said Debauchy will be a good backup like, I am still eager to see how deep the rabbithole goes when it comes to Danny.

After all, he played nearly every game in a 5th campaign.

I don't mind how deep the rabbit hole goes as long as he's stuck in there and not on the pitch

In all seriousness, I've never been as hard on Danny as many on here. I think he does a decent enough job in defence but I don't like watching players who are scared/unable to make decent passes, crosses, shots or link up play. He is definitely a PL defender but not really a PL footballer

Talkshite like...

Inter Milan are set to beat Newcastle to the signing of France full-back Mathieu Debuchy.

Debuchy, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Tyneside over the last few months, but the right-back’s outstanding displays for France at Euro 2012 saw him catch the eye of several European giants, including Inter Milan.

The Frenchman’s club Lille have demanded £8.6million for Debuchy, while Newcastle have yet to offer more than £6.3m.

And Newcastle’s reluctance to up their bid has opened the door for Inter Milan, who are preparing to offer Lille £6.6m plus add-ons to secure Debuchy’s signature.

Debuchy, adieu Inter Cabaye unveils its future

It is shortly agreement between Lille and Newcastle for the transfer of Mathieu Debuchy. The French full-back, which was also followed by Inter, will play in the Premier League following the footsteps of former companion to Lille Yohan Cabaye, spent last year more to Magpies. The same confess Cabaye the intentions of his friend: "Mathieu has taken a hard choice to leave Lille, but has now decided. Now I hope that Newcastle closes quickly with your purchase. I talked with him two days ago and I said he is eager to join us. I'm waiting here, because it is a great friend and can become a very important player for our team, "the words of the midfielder.

Despite these statements, the French press insists that Newcastle has pulled back and the back there is only Inter. But considering the confessions of Cabaye, which shows the will of the individual concerned, and the fact that Inter now transpires unwillingness to invest 7 million of Debuchy, publications across the Alps lose consistency and reliability.
