Dave
The ref clearly bottled our three through on goal because of the goal-line incident. Bet he thanked Pienaar after the game for committing the foul.

Bet he thanked Pienaar after the game for committing the foul. Yep, the ref got himself into a right mess. Must admit I was shouting "KICK HIM YOU FUCKING SHIT!" at Pienaar when that was happening. Elliottman
Anyone mentioned Nolans 1 on 1 when he was brought down in the box from behind and the ref just waved it away. Fuck Everton.

Benwell Lad
been on rd all morning. ant amusing responses from other boards, or mackems etc? Just the predictable lament from the macums that everything we've achieved is down to luck and refereeing bias while they never get any. Oh..... and of course O'Neill is still the best manager on the planet despite playing turgid dreary football and not having won for 13 games. Of course they're gonna hammer us again and they're already booking their buses for Wembley. Not to mention an early and very long thread about the only game and team who can ever fill the SoS. Dave
http://imageshack.us/a/img690/788/onorover.png It's a goal, but when it's not even totally confirmed using a still image it's hardly a surprise it wasn't given in real time.
NEEJ
The two 'goals' weren't clear-cut in real time. It's as simple as that. All boils down to luck and how the official sees it. As it happens, they called it in our favour. Suck on that, Toffees.

JH
They were denied two blatant goals, but we were denied an advantage two-on-one, the freekick leading to one of the disallowed goals wasn't a freekick and one of their players could have seen red. It wasn't a good officiating performance, but it wasn't biased in our favour by any stretch of the imagination.

Doug
Santon and Inichebe, "a litle coming together there, the merest hint, It wasnt much, I dont think theyd be looking for a penalty if it had been in the box". Nothing was made of this commentary in the analysis. Inichibe came into Santon then flapped his arms about and fell over when he realised Howards long ball was passing over them . Dubious free kick so the ball over the line issue shouldnt have mattered.
Hughesy
Possibly showing my ignorance of the offside rule here (it does seem to change quite a lot) - but is the offside rule based on any part of the body of the attacker and any part of the body of the defending player i.e. you don't use a type of athletics finish rule where the position of the torso is key? They used to have the 'clear air' rule, but I thought they got rid of that.
NEEJ
It's any part of the body that you can play the ball within the laws of the game isn't it?
Hughesy
Cheers. So a crossover of outstretched arms would be offside, but a crossover of a big toe would be onside?
afar
I'm with a lot of others on here (I don't think it's all biased at all) that I still can't blame the linesman for either decision. The offside goal, looked offside and even in the stills, stoping the action a millisecond later would show a different view. For the other one, the linesman has to get on the byline to judge it, which he does, but in doing so he has a conner flag, goal post, about 5 players and netting between him and the ball, how the hell can he see that unless it was conclusive and it's just too close to call. How in the world is that a free kick for that "goal" anyway and the refusing to play the advantage rule for benny, doesn't allow me to have a lot of sympathy for Everton nor do I think we were lucky at all. Strange game becasue I thought we were clearly second best iin the first half yet they really didn't create a lot of clear chances and Cisse really should have tied it up and we had the one cleared off the line, in the 2nd half thought we were the better side, yet concided more chances. Conjo
Shouldn't really be surprised with this being a Newcastle forum and all, but the grade of black & white tinted glasses from some on here really astounds me. Simple question for those who think we deserved a draw(or better?): How would you feel if the roles were reversed yesterday? I know I wouldn't be happy, and I'd put the blame on the referee & linesman.
Guest JS
Time to troll some Everton forums What I actually found - I feel I should apologize to Tyneside people, but those fucking accents are murder. I'm sure they're nice people, but the accents of the area are criminal, I'm sorry. A yank on a team from Merseyside. Take it he's never been to Liverpool then

Fenham Mag
On Santon, thought he was class, our 2nd most exciting player to watch after Ben Arfa.
Yorkie
Yeah, i thought Santon was decent in the final third. I don't know if he and Ben Arfa would ever strike up a seamless wing partnership, cos they're both flair players - one of whom is fairly unpredictable. But if they somehow managed it, the potential there is immense.
