Karjala
Would rather have him than Berahino, Saivet and Townsend combined. Best striker since Shearer? well, him or Demba Ba for sure.
Stifler
£12m for an established Premier League goalscorer who can get 15+ goals a season is nothing, especially when you compare it what we payed for Shelvey and and Townsend this January. We should be all over that. I'm not sure that we will get 3 good season out of him, 2 at most I think, but that £12m will pay itself back by the end of May. ilikenewcastle
Ba is the best since Shearer FYI lads. Would love Remy back of course though...
Guest
Loan deal, permanent deal, just get him. We'll stay up with him in the side.
Yorkie
Yep, Ba had a bit of everything.
Gallowgate Toon
Ba might've been the better striker, although not IMO, but Remy is definitely the better forward. He'd get goals from any attacking position and is a very good footballer, in general.
Guest
If we could mould the best attributes from Cisse 2012, Ba 2011 & second half of 2012 and Remy 2013 into one super striker, that will do.
Nobody
Ba > Remy for us, without a doubt. Remy is still a very good player and we'd probably stay up if we signed him. We should hurry up and sign him so we can play him in the cup at the weekend to get him up to speed a bit.
Gallowgate Toon
I don't think Ba had everything, either. Brilliant predator in the box, aye, but not a huge amount out of it. Inconsistent first touch, not particularly skillful, ran out of legs after an hour, not a great dribbler. He only scored one from distance too, iirc? Mole_Toonfan
Ba is the best since Shearer FYI lads. Would love Remy back of course though... We have been through this a thousand times but i simply don't agree. Remy was better technically, better dribbler, better at creating his own chance and to be frank his pace really set him apart as it allowed the entire team to be more effective. You couldn't step up too high against him or he burn you something Ba never really had the ability to do. Which is why the team was in 5th place and 6 points from top at Christmas that year before Cabaye was sold and Remy got injured.
thomas
The only question that hung over Ba was if his knees would hold up or explode like confetti poppers. Only with hindsight do we know it was an unfounded fear. He was completely ace otherwise.
Tiresias
Would love Remy back. Would actually score.
gazza ladra
Would be great... ...assuming of course McClaren chooses to start him.
Ketsbaia
Remy's return would be a game-changer.
Scottish Mag
Ba > Remy for us, without a doubt. Remy is still a very good player and we'd probably stay up if we signed him. We should hurry up and sign him so we can play him in the cup at the weekend to get him up to speed a bit. Agreed Ba was the best striker I have seen since Shearer. To think with a little ambition and a better manager we could/should have had a forward line of Remy, Ba and Ben Arfa playing for us even now. OoOGazOoO
Remy would be excellent for us again. He is quality without a doubt.

The College Dropout
Ba was better for us and is the better player IMO. For all his Remy is a better all rounder - how many good games did he have when he didn't score? How many assists did he get? Maybe it's because he was on loan but he never seemed a key member of the squad like Demba was. Everything out the dressing room leads us to believe Demba was a leader. I guess Demba playing in a better team most of the time helps my opinion. When he wasn't in top form he did very well for the team. And otherwise he was brilliant himself. He also had a better Chelsea career in terms of personal highlights. The Slip and the QF Winner.
The College Dropout
Would love him back though. So needed. Would have Berahino ahead of him though.
Guest Howaythetoon
Ba is the best striker we have had since Shearer IMO. What sets him apart was his mentality, he was like Big Al in that he was greedy for goals, had great self believe and was mentally strong and had a real presence. Remy would be an excellent addition, on loan or permanently, the bloke can score and has pace. 12m if true is a snip.
BONTEMPI
Would love him back though. So needed. Would have Berahino ahead of him though. Nah. Remy is a known quantity. If Berahino came he could take more time to adjust to the area. We need someone to hit the ground running.
Sho Time
I don't think there's any contest. Ba was a far better player for us than Remy in his time here. Ba was better for us and is the better player IMO. For all his Remy is a better all rounder Agree with this. Personally when it comes to who was the better player for us, it's Demba by a mile. TRon
If you want goals cast iron guaranteed then it's Ba every time. A far more instinctive finisher than Remy and could strike a pretty mean free kick as well. Remy is a more all round player though, and at his best would provide the pace that our side so desperately lacks. The question is, whether he's still the same player. Looked pretty lethargic in the few outings I've seen from him in Chelsea's colours.
