He thinks much quicker than the average player. In a side with more movement I think you'd really see him shine.

My favourite so far of the 5 January imports. He may be the least gifted of the five but he works so hard, has good pace and seems like a total team player, truly delighted to be at NUFC. He has talent, his pace, directness and movement are all proving to be useful to us and next season I can see him being on the fringes of the first team, grabbing a useful amount of goals and willing to play anywhere in the top three. Love him. Like our own Dirk Kuyt, but quicker and better looking.

I really like how he runs the channels. If we're persisting with the 4-2-3-1, I'd like to see him start more centrally with license to drift from wing to wing. I'd also like to see him get 90 minutes now and again.

Playing a game of fifa with NUFC this morning and scored a goal with Gouffran - the commentary pipes up with ''and that's a goal on his birthday''. Blew my mind.

Understand the substitution of Gouffran. When he works he works at 100% top speed, and he does that alot. Offcourse thats tireing, and when he's been left on after around that 70-75 min mark you can see it has taken it's toll on him. Absolute love him as a player though and has been a huge asset and something we've definitely lacked before he came. That one person pulling the defence left, right and backwards creating alot of space, sorrowly we aren't exactly using it properly yet.

 

When he first came here I actually thought he was too withdrawn with the ball at his feet and seldom looked to dribble and try to take a player on, but it has improved once he settled more in the squad and he really seem to show his skills more and more.

He does start to look slightly plugged after 70-75 minutes, but Gutierrez always gets a bit leggy by that point, as did Ba and Nolan yet they were never subbed very often at all by Pardew. I think it's more to do with the fact he won't kick up so much of a fuss as opposed to some kind of tactical nous or whatever.

Seems to be left out of a fair few 'first choice 11's' when discussed on here but I would definitely have him in there tbh. We need another wide player but I'm far from convinced we will get a full season out of HBA and if we play 2 up top I have no concerns about Gouffran being good enough.

these discussions going on all over the board and they're totally pointless, apart from jonas, willo & shola i honestly just about all of our senior squad are "good enough" in principle but they'lll never be deployed correctly under pardew 'cause he hasn't got a fucking clue

 

cisse is a double-figures striker and there's no reason whatsoever gouffran couldn't be with his pace and movement

 

problem is the midfield contribute absolutely fucking nothing in goals, very little in the way of service, and fuck all in movement to help the strikers out

 

so yeah in principle gouffran could be quality, but we'll soon get a reality check when him and cisse are alone running at a back four surrounded by the opposition defence while the other 9 outfield players stand and watch

Reason being is because i'm pretty convinced we will sign a high profile forward this summer to replace the goals of Ba.

 

I like him a lot but he's always going to be dropped before Ben Arfa and Cisse.

Hard to tell at this point. Bellamy had a hell of a left foot on him, I haven't seen what Gouffran offers in that regard. Yes he's a clever player with a turn of speed but until I see him finish a couple of goals decisively I'm unsure what has in his locker.
