Newcastle United 3 - 2 Chelsea - 02/02/13 - post-match orgasm from page 58

Recommended Posts

Thought Cabaye bossed the majority of the game, outstanding performance and i know some were skeptical about Sissoko off Cisse and Cabaye next to Perch but it seems to suit Cabaye down to the ground.

As for Cisse his overall game was great today but he had 3 or 4 really good chances which quite frankly he should be taking.

Have to say I do have a bit of admiration for Perch, and how he's at least managed to become a useful squad player. Good for him.

However, really need to put Anita back in there now. It's getting silly.

6.5 to Cisse? He created our 2-2 goal and was linking up play very well today.

For me Perch was the worst of the bunch, didn't have a bad game, just wasn't up to the same standard as the rest and lost the ball too much. Hope we see Anita back against Spurs if Tiote is still out.

He also missed a hatful of chances. 6.5 isn't exactly a bad rating, other than those missed chances he didn't put a foot wrong. It'll click for him soon, you can tell.

Aye, he should have scored a goal or possibly two today. Good to see him getting in the positions though, the goals will flow eventually.

Looks a lot better up top on his own and with a team playing on the deck, some nice link up play.

His first touch seems to be quite underrated. Some of his control when bringing the ball down is superb.

Yes, good point.

Absolutely love Cabaye as a deep playmaker, setting things up. Reminds me a bit of Alonso at Liverpool.

Not seen any of this today, but the result is truly amazing. I thought it would be too much for us too soon. Sissoko is proving to be a magic signing, can you imagine if we did leave it until the summer! thank god we didn't!

Yeah, brave from Ba but Coloccini had every right to go for that.

words of a desperate man.

Headed Colo's boot.

Gouffran tbh - There's something about this guy, something very understated but composed. He gives us a patient and calm in attacking that has been missing. He has so far ignored any instructions (if there have been any) to hit the front man at the earliest available opportunity. His primary concern is retaining possession, and finding a black and white shirt. That's not to say that he is Joe Allen/Scott Parker-esque, making useless passenger-y five yard passes either. He just gives us a nice balance and helps us to dictate the tempo - something rather alien to the side in Pardew's tenure thus far.

 agree with all, although I thought Cabaye had a brilliant first half dictating the play.

The highlighted bit

Massively important point. Has been the key difference in the past two games imo. Obviously Sissoko has been very influential, but Gouffran's contribution to out tactical game has been immense.

Mentioned it earlier but Debuchy, Gouffran and Sissoko have made such an immense difference to us going forward.

When Ben Arfa comes back :sweetjesus:

Fuck off Bene lad you should of had a player sent off after two minutes last season - life's a bitch  :p :p :p :p :p

Best moment of the match was seeing the reaction of every player when we scored the third and at the final whistle. Colo showed how much he cares about the club

Been critical this season but that game was a joy to be at today  :cheesy:

Some lovely play, sissoko seems to be the missing link in our chain, he's feeding nice balls to Cisse and Cisse seems to be enjoying that.

He's our Yen master!

Tbh it was nasty and I would have agreed with a penalty and ev. a red card. Still hilarious because of the situation

This.

Also, they should have been down to 10 after Ramires lunged in with 2 feet on Jonas, though doubtless Rafa will conveniently forget that. And as for Ba going off changing the game, well I'd say Chelsea played better after he went off than before.
