I'd have Berahino like. He'd be a good foil for Mitrovic if we play 2 up top. But 14 million for Townsend, sod that.  I'd rather a Left Back and Centre Half for that money.

We won't be playing two up top unless Gini starts playing terribly. Berahino will either replace Mitro or be shoved left wing instead of Perez

Two up top with a more diamond midfield could be lush. SIssoko operating right of the diamond floating in his right hand channel/zone. Janmaat overlapping. on the left Shelvey is much more static in his left hand channel/zone, which would require say Jetro (this summer) to be the constant left back/wingback. Berahino/Perez as the LF/LS providing a little more channel movement than say Mitro who remains up top as a CF.

Stuff of dreams really.

Berahino is a legit talent man. He's so good. He's the stiker Liverpool should have signed instead of Benteke. Can't believe they're not in for him even now. We'd do very well if we sign him.

When Fat Sam started at Sunderland he had Defoe rooted to the bench because he still didn't want a small striker up front (he's since wised up the oaf), same as he did with Martins at Newcastle, by playing him wide, which was ridiculous. Pulis is of the same breed. The thought of a smaller striker upfront gives him nightmares. Pardew is another of this ilk. No reason Dwight Gayle shouldn't be upfront for Palace, he's by far their best finisher. As a matter of fact I'd be happy with getting Gayle, really like him, but just not sure if he can play wide like Berahino can.

Just seen the link to Matt Philips as an alternative to Townsend. That would be a very decent fallback. He's got a bit of Sissoko about him in how he runs with power and pace. Would be nice having that either side.

Matty Phillips and Scott Sinclair the alternatives to Townsend apparently.

Not the most inspiring 3 options out there.

Where have you seen the Sinclair link? News is he's on his way back to Swansea.

We've set our heart on a british left winter then, not quite sure why.

To be honest though we need 8 in the squad don't we? Taylor & Williamson going doesn't leave us with too many you'd imagine.
