Chelsea operate in exactly the same manner. It's one of the reasons I don't see Howe leaving here unless he becomes really disillusioned, the club have generally backed him over DOFs looking at profit margins only. Two sackings in a week where the managers relationship with those in that role have broken down. Rummenigge’s comments about Woltemade were a result of DOFs in Germany being much more publicly accountable to the fans than in the Premier League. I do wonder if we will start to see that here - managers are left to defend all the clubs decisions in public whereas you only hear for the directors in club led interviews and Athletic puff pieces.
