Ikon
MYM really doesn't deserve to be dropped, absolutely not! And apart from that we need his pace at the back in this game. It's so obvious!
Gallowgate Toon
Really poor, if true. Colo simply doesn't deserve to be starting, we hardly missed his captaincy skills when he was out either.
Mole_Toonfan
No pace in the backline against a team full of pace of trickery well done Pardew (if its true ofc) Also its not about what MYM deserves its that he's most suited to deal with what West Brom has. STM
Should be enough regardless. Colo is the club captain and one of our most reliable players IMO.
BrettNUFC
Should be enough regardless. Colo is the club captain and one of our most reliable players IMO. This, just easy to have another pop at Pardew those going overboard. I mean i would have liked MYM to start and feel sorry for him that he's been dropped but in no way disappointed we've got Colo at the back for us or i think Pardew has messed up before we've even kicked off. Guest
Debuchy back in for MYM. Colo starting? f*** off Pardew. Never ever thought I'd see this posted on here.
Mole_Toonfan
Aye worrying about Colo dealing with pace in behind is having a pop at Pardew. Get a grip man, the complaints about Colo starting against a team which have given him trouble before is entirely legitimate.
Guest
I'm not saying he's wrong.
Wilson
Just hope Colo has one of his good days, definitely can't say I'm not worried about their pace v willo and colo though.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
They'll all be tired come the 46th minute though anyway so it doesn't really matter.
Mole_Toonfan
I'm not saying he's wrong. Should have quoted I was talking to Brett.
BeloEmre
Pardew saying that Williamson grasped his chance and will start... So Mbiwa hasn't grasped his chance mr Pardew? So much bullshit coming out of his mouth.
alexf
Just don't play a suicidal high line like we have every single home game against these lot ever since Pardew took over. So dumb as a high line plays perfectly into their hands with a back two of Willo and Colo.
BrettNUFC
He dealt with the pace of Campbell/Odemwingie/Bellamy against Cardiff well enough and was a man of the match contender? It's like if someone is faster than Colo therefore Colo is then shit and will be in trouble. So what if a player has had a good game against us in the past or has skinned Colo previously. Majority of strikers will have their days, some of them might be against Colo, i'm still more than comfortable that Colo can have a good game this evening, not doubting his quality in the slightest. Think people have been very harsh on him lately and more so because of his desire to go back to argie than his actual football ability.
Disco
I don't agree with the decision personally but given that he's club captain and, despite a couple of peoples new agenda, evidently not shit it's no great surprise that it's happened. Can see Sessegnon having more of an impact than Long anyway.
Dave
Said before that I didn't envy Pardew on this decision, so I'm not going to complain even though I'd have dropped Colo. It was always going to be a pisser either way. Competition for places, who'da thunk it?

It was always going to be a pisser either way. Competition for places, who'da thunk it? Competition for places is obviously great but it's not really competition for places if when you come into the team due to injury and play extremely well, you still get dropped when the injured player returns, which seems to happen constantly. Dave
I'd say Williamson is the one that's come in and retained his place tbh.
healthyaddiction
That is true, there are instances but I think there are great many cases where it's untrue. I think it helps that colo and mapou were shite when playing together.
Varadi
Debuchy back in for MYM. Colo starting? f*** off Pardew. Never ever thought I'd see this posted on here.
