There just shouldn’t be a bomb squad at all, unless it’s someone that’s actively broken club rules. It just won’t create a positive atmosphere at all within the club, which can be glossed over if things go well, but when things don’t, it can and will turn sour.

The players in the "bomb squad" basically have broken the rules though.

Laziness, pettiness on social media, openly criticising the coach etc.

Hojlund has been told he won't get the minutes at us, but he's still training with the team. There's a big difference with him and Sancho for example.

Thank you for the love of God.

This board unanimously slated Hojlund last summer and said we'd never compete with him leading the line. Now we make moves to replace him and cash in on him and it's being ridiculed.

I love Hojlund and he has the right attitude and could be a great centre forward, but he needs to go elsewhere for now since we've signed Sesko.

Yes you need better, and he’s been poor for you. But how he’s been treated for this weekend is nothing short of shameful for a guy that tries his all, to force him to get out of the club.

But Garnacho is the prick. It’s double standards for the manager.

If Hojlund isn't part of the plans, why would he be picked though? Mount, Cunha and Mbeumo all had excellent games and Sesko/Zirkzee were on the bench. Hojlund appears to be fourth choice now so he's not going to make the squad and Amorim has told him this.

Again, I love Hojlund. But giving your all won't guarantee you a place in the team and I think that's fair enough.

No way these lot finish in the top 5. Don't worry though Sir Ratman will sack a few dinner ladies and find another £200m to spunk on this squad again next summer

I'm still secretly hoping for relegation. They weren't that far away last season, soooo many lucky results deep in stoppage time, gifts from referees, etc.

Anyway can you imagine the flurry of rule changes that would come around of they actually went down? Be worse than Leicester winning the league.

If the promoted teams weren't so hopeless last season, they would've been in serious trouble.

I think they'll be fine this year. Cunha alone will be enough to keep them comfortably safe. I still think Amorim has made this team a confused mess though

Amad as a right back? Really?, spend £75m on  a 6ft5 giant fuck but don't deliver one cross to him over 2 games?

It's all been an incoherent mess from day 1 with Amorim and it still looks like that way which should be very worrying for Man U fans.

They have tough games coming up as well (Burnley, Man City, Chelsea). Could easily end up with 4 points after 5 games, in which case Amorim will be under serious pressure.

Lower mid table team paying Real Madrid wages with huge debt they will struggle to service next season with another year out of Europe.

Lovely to see.

They have improved, but I think there's still a lack of leadership on the field. Fernandes seems to waste too much energy getting angry with referees.

At one point in the second half, they seemed to completely lose heart. Fulham were just walking the ball into their penalty area.

Completely unbalanced side. If they can get Sesko in and have Cunha and Mbeumo feeding him then they’ll score goals, especially against weak sides. However, they’re going to leak a ton of goals this season through that midfield and defence. When they come up against a side that’s on it they’re going to get scythed through

£200 million spent and none of it on midfielders is pretty extraordinary really, after seeing the issues the current midfielders have had playing this system.

If there's one thing this setup needs, it's two quality central midfielders with energy, composure on the ball and serious tactical nous. Instead they've gone into the season with Bruno and Casemiro in there again, and the backup options are Ugarte and Mainoo [emoji38]

They went and bought two players to play in the two number 10 positions, where arguably their two best or most threatening players from last season should be playing in Bruno and Amad. Those two both now look far less effective in the positions they've been moved into, with Bruno in central midfield forcing passes and leaving all kinds of gaps defensively and Amad at right wing back not able to attack the spaces he typically prefers to because Mbeumo is in his way.

As for that Sesko signing man ... I swear that was just an ego thing. They just didn't want to see the guy join Newcastle due to the relationship some people in house had with Sesko going back, and they've gone in for him to prevent that. He's no more experienced or equipped to perform in tough circumstances, than the likes of Hojlund and Zirkzee, and so while the manager is still trying to somehow make everything work he's unlikely to be able to help alleviate the pressure by making things happen out of nothing in key moments.

If they go into the summer with that £200 million prioritising the midfield and lets say Baleba and Wharton as the new pairing to bring in there. They likely end up with a much better functioning team even with all of the other pieces remaining as they were.

Going to be fascinating to see how this all plays out from here, because that central midfield is just not able to hold the team together and it all breaks down from there.

Doesn't appear as though they have any more money to spend without sales, but every club showing interest in the players they have openly made available is taking the piss because they want to get them at knock down prices or on loan.

I think this is going to end with Amorim getting sacked before the end of the year, and the pressure then to get the next hire right to fix all of this will be immense.

They were absolutely hoping Bruno would go to Saudi, I'm sure the fact he didn't messed up any plans they had. Also I'm sure they would love Saudi bail them on the falling Brazilian midfielder as well.

I get why they wanted Sesko though they don't trust Rasmus and I guess don't have much faith in Zirkzee either.

Beat Grimsby and Burnley and we are so back.

Will probably have to rest players against Grimsby for the big one.

If they don't trust Rasmus or have much faith in Zirkzee then surely the striker you go and get has to be someone who you know will do the business and bring presence, aggression and fight aside from any goals, as they need some of that up top as well to help the team.

last summer I thought they should have gone for Toney when they were linked and they went for Zirkzee instead. This summer now I thought they should have gone for Maeteta when they were linked and they've gone for Sesko.

I just think it's very likely it all plays out the same way again.
