ManU were one of the favourites for this cup with having no European football this season and the team they started with should have had far too much for Grimsby. They were completely outplayed first half snd wtf’s happened to Mainoo?

Then ironically they started getting players with PL experience, but then (if the reports are true) ignored Amorim wanting Watkins, a player with PL experience, to sign Sesko instead.

I know Sesko is younger but Watkins would actually have been a good signing for them. Glad they didn't go for him though.

Amorim is speaking so well, he can see the issues but can't change it, it's been like this since he came in. I like him, but time is showing he's not good enough for the job. Maybe later in his career, but not now for sure.

He's perfect for the Mancs. Match made in heaven. Froggy will back me up.

What’s he said ?

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim speaking to Sky Sports: "In the end, it doesn't matter if we recover or not, it's the signs the team gave during the game, the beginning of the game. I think the best team won, the only team that was on the pitch. The best players lose because one team can win against any group of players, and I think the team and the players spoke really loud today, so that's it. We lost, the best team won."

On what he means by that: "I think it's really clear what they spoke, so let's move on from this day and I think it was clear for everybody what happened today."

"The way we start the game without any intensity, all the idea of the pressure, we were completely lost and that's why I think they spoke really loud."

You can't expect to get anything out of high level athletes by constantly being a morose, dour cunt, irrespective of how passive and "truthful" you're being. No surprise at all he's failing this hard given his demeanour and Yanga-Mbiwa actions during training sessions. I hope he stays forever.

Lots of clubs have issues, this club is fucking rotten to the core. Sacking/keeping Amorim won't cure it either, it's systemic and it runs through every strand of every layer of the club

Can't see Amorim lasting much longer, he looks like he's not enjoying it at all either. Glasner would be a good fit but Howe should be their number one target. Thankfully I don't think Eddie would be daft enough to even consider it.

If the want Howe they can take a running jump.  Rather Liverpool got Isak on a free than this lot getting Eddie.

It's honestly kind of impressive how they can spend so much money over so many years and still be this bad. This might be the biggest sustained run of incompetence in the Premier League era.

Yet they can still spend what they want. That's why nights like this have to be very much enjoyed.
