With what Man City and Man Utd have spent between them this summer, did FFP get quietly pushed under the carpet without anyone being told?  Because surely they can't have both spent >£100m this summer (with no significant sales that I can recall that would really make a significant dent in the net spend) and be in line with whatever the FFP rules are, can they?

Even under FFP rules Man Yoo wouldn't be effected, FFP is about stopping clubs spending what isn't theirs.

Every single penny they have spent this summer is their own money, City is different obviously.

Well this is AIDS.

Yeh, the two Mancs are filthy rich and FFP aint going to come into it. Particularly ManU who are a cash generating machine.

It can come into it for City like. They've already been fined by UEFA IIRC.

Fair play doesn't really come into it.

Was always bollocks anyway, if anything it helped the big clubs rather than hinder them.

which as a punishment for spending too much money seems a bit daft

And they had their CL squad size reduced, and their spending limited to £49m last season or the season before.

Wonder if Man City will buy another CB or rely on Denayer as their 4th choice this season. Could be risky with Kompany's fitness

Watching him against Wales, it's a holocaust waiting to happen.

Cue headline " Holocaust Denayer "

Ashley Williams for 12m is a weird one. He's 32 in a couple of weeks. 12m for possibly two seasons. Surely adding (some of) that money to whatever they already bid for Koné would make more sense

Unless they really are going for them both, which I still can't see

They should've just called it FP and removed the fair. It works if followed to stop clubs going bankrupt. It was never setup in my mind to make a level playing field.
