I’ve posted this before but I love it so here it is again. Keegan on signing “trouble maker” Asprilla

"I've seen what other people say about him. They think he's a good player and warn about his temperament. But if I had signed players on the basis of what I heard about them, David Ginola and Andy Cole wouldn't have come to this club and the fans would have missed some great players."

"You've got to have the courage to look at what you need and get the very best available. That's what I did. What other people think of players has never worried me. You listen to the talk, but you've got to make your own decisions. It's on the field where it really matters."

"The crowd will love him. He's a match-winner, he's a goalscorer and he's an entertainer. He's a real Newcastle player - quick, works hard and has flair. Faustino's the sort of player that Geordies love. The players they talk about are just like him. They should sit back and watch this fellow."

I tally forgot that he had the misfortune to play under that fat-headed Corbridge tosser!

I'm glad he didn't fully realise his potential as we'd have never had the pleasure of seeing him play for us!

Do we think Eddie would've made him world class or would they have fallen out?

Wasn’t really renowned for his pressing was he?

Can’t really see how he fits in to any of the top teams in the PL with the way game has gone now. Maybe Chelsea instead of Palmer? Even then he’d have to run more than he used to.

He’d have gone the way of Saint-Maximin, sold after a season or so under Howe. Think Howe prizes the team and everyone buying into covering multiple roles for the team in a way that Ben Arfa would never have done. Ben Arfa was pure genius but he was far too maverick for Howe

Possibly the most gifted I've seen up there - thankfully he was a complete fruit-loop so that we got to experience him during the Ashley days! He should have been at the biggest clubs in the world!

I still hate Nigel de Jong too - pig!

The third-most talented player with a name starting with ‘R’ in Brazil’s 2002 WC winning team :)

That attack was outrageous man [emoji38]

Personally don't think there's been a more gifted footballer ever than Ronaldinho though. Some of the stuff he did was perverted.

I get the logic but Hatem was a lot better than ASM and was absolutely made for the 4-3-3. I think there's a chance he has enduring success here under Howe.
