Guest TruToon94
He's not an out and out striker and thus will be rendered completely useless under Pardew.
M4
That said, he did a nice lay off for Sissoko's shot, but otherwise a very quiet game imo. About that chance, it looked to me that he was in plenty of space, and would have comfortably been able to take the ball on and shoot himself. Couldn't believe it when he played it back. It was quite representative of his afternoon: no real initiative, no real involvement, just strolling around the pitch. Hopefully it picks up. Andybiotics
AP: “Siem - wasn’t a true reflection of him. He wasn’t match fit, we played him because he might have that one bit of quality." #nufc So desperate.
Kanj
His movement and passing is intelligent and quick. Always a first time pass with him which is great to see.

So we have more attacking options but Pardew doesn't trust any of them to start over an unfit Siem de Jong? We were playing Crystal Palace and we were the home side. Pardew could have started Perez, Ferreyra or Gouffran upfront alongside Riviere to give him some support. He also had midfielders he could have started over de Jong. They're gonna have to start ahead of him for the time being as he is apparently crocked for at least 2 weeks which in NUFC speak means 2 months. Gallowgate Toon
Needlessly risked him and now he mightn't be available for a couple of weeks Pards was obviously feeling a bit desperate.

timeEd32
I'd be upset except this is a solid nail in Pardew's coffin. See you in October Siem with a new manager.

KaKa
This is the absolute pits man. I hope this isn't used as an excuse to give Pardew more time. Absolute bollocks man.
Ikon
I'm feeling a bit sorry for Pardew, all this bad luck is quite unfair on him. Especially during these tough times.

Play for the nil-nil and hope for that 'one bit of quality' cos that's what's needed to unlock Crystal f**kin' palace's defence!!

Rushing a player in early is the hallmark of the under pressure manager.
AyeDubbleYoo
On the other hand, rushing injured players and having them break down constantly is in the noble tradition of NUFC.

Minhosa
Said it all summer........................the whole system AP has used this season is built around SDJ. His injury renders us totally ineffective in the final third. Southampton to win to nil looks a good bet now.
