Siem de Jong (still alive)

Recommended Posts

He is no slower than Kevin Nolan. Not even close. So all this chat about not being suited is unwarranted. He has not got a run yet in the team, but once he does, his class will show.

The problem now is that Ayoze is the man in that number 10 spot, and not sure I'd play De Jong anywhere else in all honesty.

I don't care how "classy" he is, I don't know where he would fit in our team.

Tbf as much as I like and want De Jong to succeed, if we continue with 442, then there really is no where he could go, as he's not going to work in a flat midfield.

Haven't seen much in him to warrant a starting berth in the team, but maybe he can show what he can do off the bench if/when Mitrez tire and one of them needs to be taken off. I do like the suggested idea of us having a squad and players to choose from

the only time I noticed him was when he got fouled on the half way line

Yeah, was looking like a good chance to counter attack too until he got the ball and turned back towards his own goal.

Don't see where he fits in. He can only seem to play number 10 in a 4-2-3-1 and we're awful in that formation. Not to mention he hasn't yet had a memorable performance considering the player he was at Ajax.

Thought he looked really good against West Ham(?). He needs more time in games though, pointless bringing him on for between 5 and 20 minutes here and there, we saw that with Ben Arfa.
