54
From Official site: Siem de Jong sustained an injury to his right thigh in training earlier this week and is to be assessed further at the start of next week. Initial indications are that he is likely to be out for a number of months.
Gallowgate Toon
Pards is going to be shitting bricks. Gutted for the lad and I was looking forward to seeing him play properly. Serves the dickheads right for not buying a squad.
NewJerseyMag
Oh dear. Right in the s**t now aren't we. 15th or worse this season.

Kimbo
I feel sorry for him, but it's a perfect kick in the balls for Pardew. Surely everyone at the club will now be looking at how sane the Ben Arfa decision was.
Guest JS
Pards is going to be shitting bricks. Gutted for the lad and I was looking forward to seeing him play properly. Serves the dickheads right for not buying a squad. This. I saw him for a game at Ajax and he looked really decent like; looking at his goals and general play you can see he is a good player like. Must be devastating to then come to a new club and suffer a pretty severe injury. Groin and hamstring injuries, when severe, rarely completely disappear in the future too.. On the plus side (a very small plus), he won't have to suffer from Pardews dumbing down. He'll use this as an excuse at the first opportunity though, you can see it now : Pardew: "We just didn't have the quality up front to get the goal today, we were really missing Siems presence and the fret he brings to the side"
ExiledGeordie
Feel sorry for De Jong but it shows the fragility of our squad and the madness of letting players go when you aren't going to replace them. Nobody to blame but themselves.
Village Idiot
Gutted for the lad, was looking forward to see him play for you since he seems talented. You're still too good to go down (there, I said the cursed words).
Big Geordie
Yup - disappointed for de Jong, but NUFC and Pardew only have themselves to blame.
KaKa
Really worried that this keeps Pardew around longer. The snake will push this as a reason for the awful football and losses that are going to be piling up, which the media will no doubt help him spout too. It's another "we've lost Cabaye" fiasco. TaylorJ_01
doubt it, he's played a handful of games for us. Only once in the league and did nothing, he doesn't have the Cabaye aura about him yet. It'll just be a 'unlucky' thing rather than that 'oh shit' thing we know it is. Gallowgate Toon
4-4-2 then? He'll probably just try and put Cabella in as no. 10 but I don't think he's ready to take a central role, yet.

nufcjb
Although Pardew will use this as an excuse, and eventhough some might say the media will eat it up, I think this time, Pardew is in deep s***. He could have got away using the 'injury' excuse or 'we don't have our strongest lineup available' excuse before this, but this time, if the team don't get the results and especially lacking goals, his decision to let HBA leave as well as not getting a striker in, will make the media definitely question his decisions. Guest firetotheworks
Seemed like the pick of the bunch in terms of being a leader imo. Gutted for him (ish) chuffed for us.

Yep, especially if Ben Arfa impresses for Hull. Which he will.

Absolutely I'm really excited about the prospect of losing many games now since he seemed to be the only guy Pardew trusted. Obviously, feel sorry for him, but will be the best for him as well. AlanSkÃrare
This is weirdly enough a gift. I thought he'd be Pardew's new match-winner, the one to score undeserved opportunistic goals when we don't create shit. We'll struggle badly now. Foluwashola
If Pardew is sacked fairly shortly we are still going to be without a player who is likely to be extremely important for us. His long-term injury should not be gleefully welcomed like. Not at all.
