TRon
@Kris_Newcastle: According to him, Pardew is sick of his life and wants out, but doesn't want to waive the £4m that would come his way if he were sacked. That's the bottom line at the end of the day, he would rather take the club down than lose that money. In his situation would you not be the same? Newcastle United mean nothing to him so he won't care if we're in the championship next season. He's not short of a few bob is he? In any case it's not like he wants to be here if there's any truth to that. It might be different if he actually thought he could turn it round but he's supposedly sick of his life and wants out. Just fuck off then, no doubt you'll get another job where you'll be more appreciated Alan.
Guest Howaythetoon
I wouldn't walk away from 4m like, would I fuck. If he rides out the early storm, I can see fans pushing Ashley to sack him more than fans pushing for Pardew to do one.
Guest Gino14
There's definitely a part of me seeing that interview that feels sorry for Pardew. He looks in a right state there and you can see the pressure on him. The reaction he's going to get at the Hull game is not something anyone should have to go through. My sympathy becomes extremely limited though once I look at it more logically. This is a guy who knows the pressure he has been under for a long time. He has known the fans want him out and that he isn't getting the needed results. Pardew is a millionaire who has taken millions of pounds in earnings out of the club. He won't leave because he's looking for his big pay off. Well if he wants that then he'll have to endure the atmosphere that he is now subjecting himself to. He could have walked away at any point before this and his reputation, particularly in the southern media was still good. He would have gotten another job easily enough, probably the Palace job if he had left before that point. Now he is putting his career at risk, either because he wants lazy days with his pay off, or because his arrogance won't see past the fact he can't turn this around. Now effectively he's a leech, sucking the life out of the club with no concern for the end result. If we get relegated with him in charge, he'll leave with not a care in the world. The situation we're now in with the atmosphere could be easily avoided by him, or by Ashley doing the right thing and taking him out of the firing line. The fact that neither of them have acted has created this car crash of a situation. It's shameful from all parties really and the ridiculous part will be when the pundits inevitably blame the fans. I just hope like many others that no fans do anything stupid and the protests are peaceful. The banners and vocal protests in huge numbers should be enough to get the point across. Ronaldo
I can just see the hostility growing and growing towards him to the point he won't be safe to manage the team.
Guest Dontooner
Can't wait to celebrate when he finally get relieve of his duties. Its more likely he gets the sack anyway, too egoistic and cowardly to do what a man would do.

Ketsbaia
At what point is Pardew in physical danger?
AyeDubbleYoo
At what point is Pardew in physical danger? From now I would say, especially if the Hull game goes badly from the start.
Guest Gino14
At what point is Pardew in physical danger? If fans are running onto the pitch to get to him already, then I'd say now. That's the away support of just a few thousand rather than the full home support. The club are employing extra security, but it's debatable whether it'll be enough. It's at a silly point already, where one way or another he shouldn't be in the job.
Disco
At what point is Pardew in physical danger? The moment Ronaldo sets foot back in the NE?
Guest Howaythetoon
RE that video... Dry lips, stubble, bags under the eyes, runny eyes at times, lots of looking down/looking away and that little slip about that long contract of his... this has got to him. There is no doubt in my mind he has hardly slept and this is fucking hurting him badly, but do you know what? The sale of Cabaye hurt me, so did Carroll, so did those defeats to the mackems and that 6-0 defeat to Liverpool. Pardew as our manager hurts me so fuck him. He is 100% complicit in the way NUFC is ran and how we do things, now its coming home to roost, he can fuck off. Zero sympathy. I wouldn't walk away from 4m personally, but the longer this goes on, the longer his future carreer must be in serious doubt because this is humiliating this, his entire record as a manager, everything he says and has done and all his failures are right out there for the world to see to the point where if you considered Pardew as a manager, you'd have to be a fucking idiot. His stock is still high enough in the South for now to I don't know, get the Fulham gig or even back to WHU if Big Sam gets the sack which is looking likely, but the more this goes on, the likely it is that he will become damaged goods and far too toxic to be associated with. Howay man, never has a manager been unable to leave his seat or the dugout because of abuse from the stands, never. That was in May... Saturday will be 100 times worse for him! He has pretty much a whole City/support base baying for his blood. If he doesn't resign or doesn't get sacked before Saturday, I'll actually begrudgingly say good on you pal for facing this shit storm, I couldn't. But then this is Pardew, the man's ego is so big he's probably secretly loving the attention.

Ronaldo
It's also the overall sense of hopelessness and frustration with the club that means physical violence is a possibility. Kanj
He's ruining my enjoyment of sport - something I watch for entertainment, something I played my entire life. He's the reason I want my own club to lose so he's closer to the chop. He got his job in a backdoor type of way and pretends to be this man of the people, but he's a f***ing fraud and egomaniac. He's not got any track record of success to show for himself, and he's not got a cabinet chock full of trophies to point to as a reason to have such an ego. He's the same guy who's told us really not to dream, that a mediocre 10th place is good enough, and that European nights are a waste of money and time. The last thing he'll ever get is sympathy from me. I met Graeme Souness, told him who I supported and he apologized for how bad he/they did under his tenure. If I said the same to Alan, we all know it's never, ever his fault. f*** him. I truly hate him, and hate is putting it lightly.
DJ_NUFC
This is the guy who just last week made disparaging comments about his former club's attempts to woo him back, about how he's way above Crystal Palace's level. How fucking deluded is this man? He should've taken that job or any other when he had the chance, as now, as people have mentioned above, he's actually fucking around with his career and his reputation. Jack Flash
I don't condone anything like that but I do think hai own arrogance is his downfall. He's actively took the piss out of us thinkin he won't get anything back. The day of reckoning is here That's the beauty of it for me. It's the bad guy in a film being an untouchable, moustached cunt for ages then getting a pipe through his chest. Anything he gets is completely of his own making which is why he's so scared. Yep. the prick deserves everything he's getting on Saturday. Dared to question the intelligence and education of the people in the NE and somehow still can survive that. Not anymore man. Wallace
How can he expect the team to play well when he looks like a broken man? The players see him every day and if he has given up, how on earth is he going to motivate them (something he has already admitted he has struggled with in the past). Kanj
The man literally can't be in public in Newcastle, can he? Surely? He couldn't go grab a coffee or a bite to eat and feel like he wouldn't get verbally and/or physically abused? But naw he wants to keep his job, won't walk away, a win on saturday means all of that goes away. Yeah, fuck off.

But then this is Pardew, the man's ego is so big he's probably secretly loving the attention. When you say you wouldn't walk away from 4m, are you approaching that from your monetary position or Pardew's? I probably couldn't personally walk away from 4m either. If however I had already earned about 4m in wages and bonuses from a club, was hated by all the club's support and was about to be protested against by 50,000 people I think I might be able to walk away. It's a short term approach he's taking, because this is getting attention that affects his future career, so he's putting future earnings in jeopardy. Perhaps I'm underestimating human greed, maybe even my own as well in a given situation, because 4m is a lot. If it's a stand off as has been speculated, Ashley is even greedier. 4m is pocket change to his wealth, the equivalent of one of us dropping a £20 note and it blowing away in the wind, yet he won't pay it.
