Crystal Palace manager

I fucking hate him.

 He's all "Why are they against me so fast?"

We've been truly shit for an entire year. A year!

He knows the average football fan doesn't know that. It's so incredibly cynical and cowardly the way he carries on, to curry favour with the national press and neutral fans. Makes it even more amazing when some of our own go for it.

How can the average Newcastle fan be unaware that we've been shit since at least December of last year. They're watching, aren't they? I don't get this fucking divide amongst NUFC fans. Even casual Knicks fans knew the manager was shit last year.

Nah sorry, I meant neutrals. He's putting money in the bank for when the whole country calls us unreasonably expectant geordies who want their perfectly decent manager out at the drop of a hat.

This is just my theory, but people are obsessed with Ashley is the devil, no matter what Pardew does its "well it's not his fault" basically. It's fucking infuriating.

 There isn't enough room to hate both?

 Shit like this is why the same ten or so hopeless fucking clowns rotate gigs.

I think it's a minority of NUFC fans that wouldn't like to see a change of manager now tbh, the minority are just quite vocal.

I know this place and this thread are pretty much an echo chamber at this point, but how in the fuck could anyone possibly want to give this guy more time.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/alan-pardew-surprised-newcastle-fans-4204703

“Everybody in the Premier League has it coming, but for me it’s probably come a little bit quicker than I expected. I have to deal with that.

“I’m responding to pressure like I always do. The only thing I can do is bring what I think is the right mentality to the group for the next game.

“If you ask most Premier League managers, they’ll say their treatment [from the fans] is very much the same. It’s probably a little bit more focused here - maybe because we’ve banned the local media, I don’t know. It seems to be slightly more revved up here.

"Of course it’s important for the fans to respect and honour what you’re doing. I think maybe some of that trust was lost at the back end of last season. There could be a number of arguments why you would consider that to be my fault, and I would have to accept those if that was the opinion of the fans. All I can do is honour what I think I do for this football club, and that’s an honest job.

Pardew says there is only one way to win back the supporters, and that is with good football and victories.

He added: “You can only really enhance that relationship by winning games, and we need to win some, simple as that.

“The pressure that the local media - and media in general - put on me at this football club will never change. I think it will always be the same.

"Sometimes, when you’re at a club for a long time - and I’m the second longest serving manager in the Premier League now - it becomes a little more difficult, especially at a club of this size.

“People ask, ‘Why haven’t you won a trophy?’ But we haven’t won a trophy at this club since 1969. It’s very, very difficult.

"Immediate results are important, and I can’t take my eye off that either. But by the same token, I do have to have a bigger vision. I think we’ve got better, and we’re a stronger club than when I arrived, a lot stronger. I don’t know how else you can gauge it.

“I don’t think we’d be having this conversation if Palace hadn’t scored that stoppage-time equaliser. That’s how fine the lines are.

"But having said that, I’m not totally blind to the fact that last year is playing a part here. I’m not going to hide from that and bang the drum that all this is horribly harsh.”
