Rémi Garde and the case of the missing art galleries

FFS!! Yeah let's wait until the end of the season when by which time a lot of managers will probably already have agreed what they're doing next season.

And again waste months pretending to look for a "head coach" when we should be after players.

Excuses all ready and waiting to go for the summer!!!!!!!

Just like the Fans Forum was postponed on Monday until we actually win under this twat. They are desperate to have him win 3/4 games so they can appoint him

The way Carvers going he could be gone before May.

It would take the bottom three winning a fair few for them to consider that imo. As long as we are safe he will see out the season

Current status: Garde is currently working as a TV with French broadcasters

Exclusive footage of Garde at work.

Based on fuck all.

The Garde situation is ludicrous, either:

They want him and intend to make a move "later"

Or

They didn't like what he said and don't intend to go back

Or

They never had any intentions of employing him

...

I suppose there's a chance the deal is all agreed and they've sworn him to secrecy but if it's anything other than that they're just asking for another team to come in and offer him a better option.

Fucking laughable as usual.

Olivier Bernard believes that Remi Garde will want to bring his own staff to Newcastle United, if he decides to end his sabbatical for a stint at St James’ Park.

Garde held talks with United chiefs back in January without striking a deal.

Since then, stand-in head coach John Carver has been included in talks with managing director Lee Charnley and chief scout Graham Carr about the preparations for next season – and is still understood to be in with a shout of winning the job full-time.

Newcastle sources this week dismissed fresh talk of Steve McClaren being lined up for next season, despite national headlines linking the ex-England boss with the post.

When asked about the possibility of ex-Lyon boss Garde coming to Tyneside, Bernard – a former player at the French club – said: “I think it was quite clear he was not prepared to come out in the middle of the season.

“The fact he always travels with one physio and one assistant means he might be put off. In France it has been quiet too. You were expecting them to get it sorted by now, but it’s not the case.

“It’s awkward at the moment. I’m not worried though because John is good enough to take the team on.”

However, Benard has warned that Carver will need the backing of his board going forward.

The ex-United man said: “He will need a lot of backing from the squad and money to spend.

“We have young talent but in the professional game, the experience is very important. That gives you points.

“Look at games in the past that were 0-0 and very tight – but we had Alan Shearer, who would pop up and win you the game.

“Now you don’t see that.”

I don't know, a manager who has art high on the priority list of life is exactly the kind who would play the game the right way :) I would be setting up fake art gallereez around the ground just to lure him, filled with poorly drawn imitations of Picasso and Van Gogh by the plethora of crayons at the disposal of Carver and Stoney.

Just print loads of the drawings off our football in paint

Keegan would have told him that Newcastle is closer to the Louvre than London or something.

I doubt it was a defining issue I'm sure if the board were desperate to bag him they could have done an HTT style dossier on golf courses and culture in Newcastle and the surrounding area.
